KK Fearless

A 501(c)3 organization spreading substance use disorder awareness & using music to heal. Kevan was about to turn 30 before the disease took him away from us.

My family and I started the non-profit, KK Fearless, in February 2018 following the one-year anniversary of the death of my sister, Krystle. Krystle was 27 years old when she succumbed to her op**te addiction, but she was so much more than that. Krystle was a vibrant, loving, giggly, smart, talented, human being who suffered with the disease of addiction. Unfortunately, less than three years later

, in November 2020, my brother Kevan fell to his addiction as well. Kevan was kind, gentle, talented, loving, and an exceptional fisherman!

Sadly, their stories are not unique. The CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) reported that in 2020 more than 93,000 Americans lost their life from a drug overdose, 93,331 to be exact, and the numbers continue to increase every year.

KK Fearless was created, first and foremost, in remembrance of the lives of my sister and brother. However, they are just the outlet that helps bring individuals to their own path of recovery. KK Fearless knows how important music is to all individuals, but also the therapeutic benefits it brings to those addressing their physical and emotional needs in order to combat their addiction. With your help, KK Fearless can donate the funds in providing rehab facilities a music room where those suffering with their addiction can utilize music as a tool that will ultimately lead them on their own path to recovery.

Today, we had the honor of attending the reveal of the new music space at Peaks Recovery Centers, Krystle & Kevan’s corner— a project supported by funds raised through our benefit festival in memory of Krystle and Kevan.

Seeing this space in person was incredibly special.

What began as an idea to honor their lives has now become a place where others can find healing, expression, and connection through music.

Thank you to Peak’s for allowing us to be part of this meaningful moment, and thank you to everyone who supported our fundraiser and helped make this possible. Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact.

We’re also excited to share that while we were there, we joined Peak’s podcast to talk more about KK Fearless, Krystle’s & Kevan’s story, and this partnership.

A few years ago, we hosted this benefit concert to raise funds for — a place that was part of Krystle’s recovery journey before she passed away.

This weekend, those funds are finally being put into action through the donation of instruments for their music space, creating a place for healing, expression, and connection for others walking their own recovery path.

What started as a day full of music, yoga, art and community support has come full circle into something that will continue to help others.

We are honored to be part of the reveal this Sunday and grateful to everyone who supported this event and helped make this possible. 🖤🎶

Today we honor a life that continues to inspire everything we do.

On what would have been his 35th birthday, we remember Kevan through the memories shared, the passions he loved—especially fishing—and the lasting impact he left on those around him.

KK Fearless was built on love, legacy, and the commitment to continue making a difference in his honor. His story lives on through every life touched by this mission.

We carry him with us today and always. 💙✌️

Today we reflect on pain that turned into purpose.

Nine years ago, we received the heartbreaking news of Krystle’s passing. Eight years ago, our family made the decision to honor her by turning pain into purpose and giving back to those facing the same struggles.

These past few years have reminded us why KK Fearless matters so much. Krystle and Kevan’s impact is still very real- and we see it in the stories shared, the lives impacted, and the love that continues to outpour when their names are brought up.

Grief doesn’t fade or dissipate, it transforms. And we show up everyday- stronger, more determined, and more fearless than ever. Thank you for continuing to stand with us, support us, and believe in our mission.
