And apparently, we're not invited. RUDE.

Our mom is doing something pretty exciting this Sunday! She's speaking at the Embody Wellness Expo in Longmont about one of her favorite subjects (besides us, obviously).

After such a long, dry stretch here in Colorado, a little rain feels like a BIG reason to celebrate.

THE BARN IS FULL!!! 🌾🐮❤️

A few weeks ago, we showed you a nearly empty hay barn and told you we had a problem.

Today, we get to show you THIS.

The hay arrived! The Babies' winter groceries are safely tucked into the barn, and after a very stressful summer and an even more stressful search for hay, I can finally breathe.

The Babies will be fed. ❤️

We did what we had to do and secured the hay while we could, but filling this barn took a BIG bite out of Pay and Friends' savings.

And around here, that's also the ...
“Jenny ripped her nail off” fund,
the
“Billy ate an entire glove” fund,
and the general
“WHAT DID ONE OF YOU DO NOW?!” fund. 😂

So now that we've filled their barn, we'd love your help filling their savings back up.

Remember when The Babies told you Mom called a family meeting and said they might need to get jobs?

Well... this is why. 😬🌾

This is our hay barn today.

Seven rescued dairy cows eat A LOT, and we need at least 1,100 bales to get them through winter and spring.

This year has been especially tough. Colorado's dry conditions meant our own 18 acres didn't produce enough grass to get us through the summer without supplementing with hay. And now our longtime supplier is already out of the green grass hay we normally buy.

So I've been scrambling a little.

But I have REALLY good news:

I found hay. ❤️

Enough to get us through winter and hopefully well into spring is scheduled to arrive next week.

It's going to take a very big bite out of Pay and Friends' savings, but first things first: The Babies WILL be fed.

Now we just need to fill this very, very empty barn.

And when that hay truck pulls in next week, you better believe we're celebrating. 🐮🌾❤️

🚨 Mom called a family meeting.

Apparently, we need to get jobs.

Mom says we’re heading into winter with a bit of a hay problem, and since none of us have shown much interest in contributing financially to this household, she told us it’s time to tell our friends. 😬

Colorado’s dry year has made things tough. Our own 18 acres didn’t produce enough grass to get us through the summer without supplementing with hay, and now our longtime hay supplier is already out of the green grass hay we normally buy.

And apparently seven rescued dairy cows eat A LOT.
Like... at least 1,100 bales to get us through winter and spring a lot. 😳

Mom says she has a plan. We’ll tell you more soon.
In the meantime, if anyone knows of employment opportunities for cows with no marketable skills beyond being ridiculously cute, please advise.

🚧🐮 We'd like to officially recognize Eugene Perez as Pay and Friends' Chief Fix-It Officer... because at this point, we're pretty sure there's nothing he can't build, repair, invent, or figure out. 😂❤️

A HUGE thank you to Eugene and his incredible team of strong (and very brave!) volunteers for tackling our newest shade shelter for The Babies!

With Colorado's triple-digit temperatures, our fluffy, furry, permanently-overdressed Babies need all the shade they can get. Building this shelter was no small task... and of course, to make things extra exciting, some of the parts were missing. 🤦🏼‍♀️

But if there's one thing we've learned, it's this: if Eugene is on the job, somehow it'll all work out. A little creativity, a lot of determination, and a few extra trips for supplies later... The Babies officially have a beautiful new shady hangout.

We're so incredibly grateful for every hour, every heavy lift, every problem solved, and every volunteer who jumped in to help. This sanctuary exists because of people like you.

Thank you, Eugene, for always being our go-to Mr. Fix-It and for caring for this place like it's your own. And thank you to your amazing crew for helping make life a little cooler (literally!) for The Babies. ❤️🐮🌳

Good news, bad news.

Good news:
The Babies are amazing, happy and living their best life.

Bad News: 2Pac, our incredible angel donated ATV, got stuck in the mud.

Great news:
Everything worked out perfectly as always and lots of fun was had.
