Due to severe weather and flooding Meals on Wheels is unable to prepare today’s senior congregate meal due to being closed yesterday.

We have a busy and fun-filled week at the Kevin Brady Library and Community Center!

Tomorrow morning, June 10th join us in the parking lot and library for Touch-A-Truck event with special storytelling guests. The coolest cars and trucks with jobs in Montgomery County will be here from 10:00am to 12:00pm and storytimes are at 10:30am and 11:30am!🚓🚒🚑📚

We are also fortunate enough to host two FREE public events tied to the Piney Woods Film Festival. The first is a showing of the documentary Unstoppable Spirit: The Beautiful Game, the Journey Beyond the Goal with a Q&A session by the Writer, Executive Produce, and Narrator Shea Arender tomorrow, June 10th at 6:00pm!⚽️🌎🏟️

The Film Festival will close out their days of events with the FREE to attend Red Carpet Awards Ceremony on Saturday, June 13th, at 8:00pm. It will be held in the Cathy Brady Ballroom at the Kevin Brady Community Center. 🌲🎬🏆

Yesterday the Rotary Club of The Woodlands gave out awards to its members and other individuals who have made an impact in our community. One of our staff members, who is also a Rotarian, and a staff member of one of our partners from Interfaith of The Woodlands were well deserved recipients of these awards. Congratulations Maria Pilos for being recognized as the Rotarian Newcomer of the Year and Deisy Isaza for receiving the Rotary of The Woodlands Vocational Award! Maria is one of the smiling facing you will see daily behind our front desk and Deisy comes almost everyday to put one events and activities for the seniors that come to the Kevin Brady Community Center. Join us in congratulating these two spectacular women!

During Summer break, school-aged children who rely on free/reduced lunch suffer from high levels of food insecurity. Commissioner Ritch Wheeler, Precinct 3 has placed Kids Meals donation boxes at the Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center, the main office for Precinct 3 off of Pruitt Road, and here at the Kevin Brady Community Center.

What is Kids Meals? It is a nonprofit organization that feeds preschool aged children who would receive free lunch if they were school aged. During the summer the meal count really racks up as children who receive free lunch/breakfast are now at home and need a meal! WE APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!

🌞✨ Summer officially begins this month, and our June calendars are ready!
The Kevin Brady Community Center has a full schedule of Senior Activities, plus the Golden Go Bus schedule and the Meals on Wheels Congregate Meals menu.
We’re looking forward to another great month with everyone!
