A packed house, an unforgettable story, and a woman whose journey reminded us all of the power of resilience and perseverance! Our October EWA luncheon was truly special as we welcomed the remarkable Nelda Luce Blair.

Nelda’s presentation, “I’m Not Offended,” brought together wisdom, humor, and heartfelt stories from her extraordinary career. As a trailblazing female attorney, community leader, and public servant, she shared the challenges she encountered, the lessons she learned along the way, and how she navigated decades of changing expectations and opportunities for women.

Through her stories, Nelda reminded us of the importance of staying true to ourselves, meeting challenges with determination, and never allowing obstacles to define what we can accomplish. There was so much to take away from her message, along with plenty of laughter and a deeper appreciation for the women who have helped pave the way for generations to come.

We are so grateful to Nelda for sharing her incredible journey so openly and to everyone who joined us for such a wonderful afternoon. What a privilege to hear from a woman whose leadership, service, and dedication have made such a lasting impact on The Woodlands and beyond.

✨What a fantastic start to the 2026–2027 💫Women of Vision program at Oak Ridge High School! It is always so exciting to welcome a new group of young women and begin building the relationships that make this program so meaningful!

Our September session was all about looking ahead, dreaming big, and creating a vision for the future!

A big thank you to the wonderful Candice Davis, who led an inspiring presentation on the importance of having a vision for our lives and making thoughtful choices that help us stay on that path. I love the idea of encouraging these young women to look beyond specific goals and really think about the kind of person they want to become and the life they hope to create.

The girls had an opportunity to reflect on what brings them joy, their passions and interests, the impact they want to have on others, and the things they hope to experience and accomplish along the way. They brought those thoughts to life through their own vision boards, with our mentors right there beside them to encourage conversation, share experiences, and help them explore all the possibilities ahead!

One of my favorite things about Women of Vision is watching the connections develop between our mentors and students. Sometimes it's a simple conversation, a shared experience, or a little encouragement that can make such a lasting impression.

A heartfelt thank you to all our amazing mentors who showed up to support these young women. Your time, encouragement, and willingness to invest in the next generation mean so much!

And a very special shoutout to our fabulous Women of Vision VPs, Ashley Speice and Candice Davis, for the time, energy, and heart they pour into making this program such a wonderful experience for our Oak Ridge students!

What a great reminder of the difference we can make when women come together to encourage and lift up the next generation. Looking forward to another wonderful year at Oak Ridge High School!

✨What a wonderful way to kick off our 2026–2027 Women of Vision program at Conroe High School with such an enthusiastic group of sophomores this year, and I am so excited for what lies ahead!

We started by introducing the girls to the 💫Women of Vision program, sharing some of our scholarship success stories, and giving them a glimpse of all the wonderful experiences they have to look forward to over the next three years.

A huge thank you to our fabulous mentor, Candice Davis, who led such a meaningful presentation on creating a vision for our future and being intentional about the choices we make along the way. I especially loved her message about focusing on our overall vision rather than just a list of specific goals. It's about thinking beyond what we want to accomplish and really considering who we want to become!

The girls then broke into small groups with our mentors to create their vision boards and talk about what brings them joy, what inspires them, the impact they hope to make, and what they envision for their futures. I love that our mentors participated right alongside them, sharing their own experiences and helping the girls think a little deeper.

And let me tell you, these sophomores did not disappoint! FIVE students volunteered to stand up and share their vision boards with everyone. I loved seeing their creativity, confidence, and excitement as they talked about their futures!

A heartfelt thank you to all our amazing mentors who came out for our first session. The time you spend listening, encouraging, and connecting with these young women is truly what makes Women of Vision so special.

And a special thank you to our wonderful Women of Vision VPs, Arleni Villafuerte and Jessica Renee Veal, for all the time, planning, and heart they put into this program. Your dedication to these young women is so appreciated!

There is something really special about watching young women begin to see all the possibilities ahead of them, especially when they are surrounded by women who believe in them and want to see them succeed.

What a fantastic start to the year! I can't wait to see where their visions take them!

✨ We are so grateful to The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce for the invitation to attend the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and represent EWA.

It was an honor to be surrounded by so many leaders and volunteers who pour into our community every day!

A highlight of the event was the incredibly powerful keynote by Damon West, co-author of The Coffee Bean. His message was truly profound and impactful.

He shared a simple but powerful reminder:

👉 In life’s challenges, we can choose to be like the coffee bean—transforming our environment for the better—rather than letting it change us.

His story of resilience, redemption, and the power of choice left a lasting impression and is one we’ll carry forward in both our leadership and service.

Thank you again for creating such a meaningful event and for celebrating the spirit of volunteerism in our community. We’re proud to stand alongside you!
