We’re excited to introduce you to the local nonprofits selected for The Pitch 2026, each with an opportunity to take the stage this November!

First up, meet Justin Penrod from Creative Alternative for Learning & Living (CALL) Justin Penrod

CALL supports individuals with developmental disabilities through person-centered services, advocacy, and meaningful relationships, helping each person work toward their goals and feel connected to their community.

What made you say, “Yes, I want to be part of The Pitch?”

“The opportunity to share CALL’s story, highlight our impact, and help us expand services to individuals and families in South County.”

What’s one thing you’re ready to get better at?

“I’m ready to get better at sharing CALL’s story and confidently communicating the impact we make in our community.”

We can’t wait to follow Justin and CALL’s journey through The Pitch!

Join us November 10 at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo for The Pitch 2026 at 5 PM.

This morning at Talley Farms was a great reminder of why.

Through our partnership with the SLO Food Bank, Must! Charities is investing in the Local Harvest Fund, connecting local farmers and ranchers with families who need fresh, nutritious food.

Our highlight was spending time with Leo, a trilingual member of the Food Bank’s Outreach Team whose position is supported through Must! Charities’ investment. Leo goes directly into rural and underserved communities, building trust, connecting families with resources, and helping make sure food reaches the people who need it most.

At Must!, we believe in investing in people like Leo, the people doing the work every day to strengthen our community and reach those who need support most.

Want to support investments like the Local Harvest Fund and Leo’s work in our community? Donate at the link in our bio and put your generosity to work right here in SLO County.

Meet Charles Liu, proprietor of SÉDUIRE WINE, a super-boutique 1,000 case production private winery in the Paso Robles Willow Creek District.

SÉDUIRE is born from a remarkable love story, navigating the life and loss of a spouse of 20 years. It represents a beautiful journey of resilience, of rising from grief and finding light once more. Today, Charles and his partner, Julia Fuller, are forging their next chapters together.
Charles’ upbringing by devout Buddhist parents instilled in him the practice of Dāna, or selfless generosity. Like the Western belief of agricultural stewardship, it views us as temporary caretakers of the land.

For SÉDUIRE, true success means honoring and giving back to the unseen vineyard workers and local families who form the backbone of our wine region, and being responsible for the collective health of our community.
This is why they partner so deeply with Must! Charities. Through their dedication to Must! Charities and the PURPOSE auction activities, Charles, Julia, and SÉDUIRE Wine have helped raise over $350,000 in just the last few years.

Thank you, Charles and Julia, for your generosity and for pouring your hearts back into our community. ❤️

49,637.

It’s a number we’re incredibly proud of. But numbers don’t tell the whole story. That number represents a senior who shared a meal instead of eating alone.

A student who found a safe place to create and grow.

A family that received fresh food during a difficult season.

A scholarship recipient taking the next step toward their future.

A nonprofit leader who found new confidence and support.

Behind every statistic is a person.

And behind every person is a community that chose to care.

In 2025, together, we directly impacted 49,637 lives - that’s nearly 18% of San Luis Obispo County.

The number matters. But the people matter more.
