Today it's raining, and our street people are out in it... The SLO Prado Shelter can only offer a roof if enough volunteers and staff are available to cover everyone. Please consider volunteering...805-544-4004.

Diane Richford knew early on that she would be an organ donor and she has now saved three people who received her organs. Her husband Dave Richford will have the opportunity one day to meet these people and tell them about his wife.

Her name was Diane Richford and she was a sweetheart- funny, kind and loved by everyone. She will certainly be missed… just have to believe she’s in a better place.

Today, a 40-year-old unhoused woman was laid to rest. We had just celebrated her birthday - the only birthday party she'd ever had in her honor. She was sleeping in the back of a van in the Summer heat, and it was just too much. She suffered a heart attack, and then a stroke on her way to the hospital. It was there that they pronounced her brain dead.

She was our friend - a wonderful woman taken far too soon. In her honor, we're pushing for more housing in SLO County, or at least a place where people living in their vehicles can be safe from harm. How many more deaths will it take for someone to listen?

Thanks to the Congregation Beth David in San Luis Obispo for sending us gas cards to pass out to our folks living in their cars. An elderly gentleman was in Paso and we drove up and asked if he needed gas and he said “what did I do to deserve this?” They know we care

Thank you Beth David and thank you Jo ❤️

The Prado Day Center at 40 Prado in SLO needs volunteers; how many people they can accept during inclement weather depends on how many staff and volunteers they have. Please call them to volunteer: 805-544-4004. THANK YOU!
