We are so grateful for the Town of Telluride (especially Josh Williams and Lance McDonald) for making Pinhead's Bridge Camp happen annually.
Campers started the week doing site visits and learning about different types of bridges, and then tried their hands at constructing strong bridges, from paper to Lego to popsicle stick bridges - the popsicle stick bridges held at least 30 pounds of weighs! After gaining all the knowledge, they embarked on making an actual working foot bridge for public use.
This year's bridge is an extension of a bridge made two years ago at the Beaver Pond in the town of Telluride. The campers worked really hard to crank out a 16-foot bridge, which is double the size of bridges we normally build in this camp! Go use their bridge and appreciate how bridges are crucial in environmental conservation. Now less people will circumvent into the wetlands when the trail gets muddy because there's a working bridge to keep their shoes clean!
