A dry winter and ongoing negotiations between Upper and Lower Basin states continue to riddle possible solutions for the Colorado River with complexity and uncertainty.
On August 26, join Zak Podmore, journalist and author of “Life After Deadpool: Lake Powell’s Last Days and the Rebirth of the Colorado River,” to learn more about his work and his perspective on the future of the American West’s most essential river. Drinks and snacks will be provided! This event is FREE and open to the public.

⭐️ July 20 at 5:30: a book talk with author Heather Hansman on her new book, Fierce Country, that tells the story of three women at the forefront of the outdoor movement in the 20th century.
⭐️ July 21 at 5:30: learn about the current health of our forests in the Telluride region with CSU Professor Dr. Jason Sibold.
⭐️ July 21 at 8:30am: join us for a walk and talk in Bear Creek to learn more and look at forest conditions on the ground.

Join us for the 4th Annual TRASH BASH this Sunday, May 17, at Elks Park! Join together with your team to pick up trash on public lands in Telluride, and then stay for the bash: live music, prizes, and pizza!
A bag of trash earns you a free drink ticket to Uno Dos Tres, pizza from Brown Dog, NA drinks, and an entry into the raffle for prizes from Patagonia and gift cards to local restaurants.
Plus, the team that picks up the most trash per team member will win a grand prize - a shared gift card to Butcher and the Baker! See you there!

🚨 Action Alert! 🚨 The Draft Environmental Assessment for Telluride Ski Resort’s Improvement Projects is live, and open to public comment (yes, your input!) until Monday, May 11! The project is varied: it includes upgrades to Lifts 7 and 8, a new egress from Lift 9, a full service restaurant at the top of Lift 12, a bunch of proposed logging in primary lynx habitat, and more.
