Happy International Day of the Girl! 👧🏻👧🏼👧🏽👧🏾👧🏿

Over the years, we have had some extraordinary young women come through our doors and work with us. From goofy fun, to advocacy, to paid projects and partnerships, they have showed us the incredible empathy, humor, strength, skill, and intelligence people are capable of. They have shone brightly in every OST program we offer.

Afterschool Alliance is a national organization that advocates for afterschool funding across the country.

This year we are taking part in , a day of advocacy where OST (out of school time) programs hold different events to show policy makers what we do and why our programs matter.

Please join us and hear from our program participants and their parents and tell us why YOU think afterschool is a critical element in a child’s life.

CEO Friday, but let’s connect with the land!

Taos High students headed to Taos Land Trust where they got their hands dirty harvesting green chiles, onions, and flowers — and, of course, made some new turkey friends along the way. 🦃

Not a bad way to spend a Friday! Taos is lucky to have so many incredible community partners working to provide opportunities just like this.

The Taos Tigers came ready to play Friday night and put up a BIG win, taking it 25–2!

After the final whistle, we caught up with the players to hear what they had to say about the game, the team, and bringing home a Homecoming victory.

And with the 2026 Homecoming Court joining in on the celebration, it was a night to remember in Tiger country.

BREAKING NEWS! TK1 has officially launched into space!! 🛰️🚀

This morning, our student-built CubeSat satellite finally launched aboard a NASA high-altitude balloon mission at Fort Sumner, NM and is currently traveling to 105k feet on a balloon the size of the Empire State Building.

Our CubeSat sits in a cooler on a metal-frame gondola, housing various other payloads from around the country. In addition to our camera taking a shot every 10 seconds, sensors on our satellite record temperature, field-of-view relative light intensity, acceleration, and more. It also has a magnetometer and a gyroscope… and, ultimately, a whole host of lessons for our Space Program to review once the satellite comes back to Earth.

A HUGE gratitude to Dr. Jordan Alexander and Dr. Michael Garcia for getting our space program off the ground 😏

This year, TK1 students are building more CubeSats and we’ll then launch them right here on low-altitude balloons (5km up), at UNM-Taos, as part of our Family Space Day scheduled for sometime in the spring.
