Madi's Movement Transforming Foster Teens' Lives
Support teens aging out of foster care with tools for financial literacy, life skills, and career readiness. March Fourth.

Help them achieve independence and reach their dreams. Join us and make a difference! “I am Madi of Tampa, Florida. I am ridiculously passionate about becoming someone famous and important to help people because I can serve society more positively. I don’t have it all together, but I have a plan and I will change the WORLD!” written by Madison Ebie at age 16. Madison Elizabeth is a passionate young woman with a sympathetic heart who wants to change the world. Madi set her vision on helping foster children, especially teens, who don’t have a voice and who face insurmountable obstacles at a critical point in their life. Her mission is to break down barriers so foster teens can achieve independence and realize their fullest potential. Most importantly, she wants to give them a voice. Madi’s spirit and vibrant personality embody her desire to lift up those around her. She is sweet and sassy, feisty and playful, and full of life. Her contagious personality is magnetic and makes everyone feel comfortable, regardless of the situation. Madi is the trifecta: beautiful inside and out, bright, and blessed with a heart of gold. Sadly, a tragic accident claimed Madi’s life on March 4th, 2021. Those two words resonate and affirm Madi’s message to her family. She inspires us to “march forth” in her honor and to help foster teens march forth as they transform, like a butterfly, to independence. Madi’s spirit is alive and she is living out her dream… to serve society in a positive way and change the WORLD.

We’re expanding what’s possible for young adults aging out of foster care!

Madi’s Movement and Fostering Hearts FL are coming together to expand our Education Program while continuing to strengthen our Driving Program and Advocate Program.

For young adults aging out of care, barriers like education, transportation, employment, and not having a consistent adult to turn to can make the transition into adulthood even harder.

By joining forces, we’re creating stronger pathways to learning, opportunity, independence, and long-term success, with more resources, more connection, and more people in their corner.

One team. More support. Greater impact.

Connection Night is for our young adults AND Advocates! 💜

This month, we’re bringing everyone together for dinner, connection, celebration, and Tapping with Shannon, an interactive session focused on slowing down, managing stress, and learning a simple tool you can use when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

It’s a night to connect with each other, celebrate milestones, learn something new, and just enjoy being together.

Shayla has been working hard to build a future for herself, without the family safety net so many of us take for granted.

No parent to teach her how to navigate adulthood.
No family to fall back on when things get hard.
No guaranteed place to call home.
And still, she kept moving forward. 💜

💼 She got a job.
🚗 She earned her driver’s license.
🏡 She moved into her first apartment and we helped make it feel like home.
🎓 She’s continuing to work toward completing her GED.

These aren’t just milestones. They’re stability. Independence. A fresh start. And a chance at the future she deserves.

Shayla is one example of what can happen when a young person aging out of foster care finally has people in their corner.

At Madi’s Movement, we’re helping young adults build the foundation for a better future creating change that impacts their lives and our entire community. 💜

More young adults aging out of foster care will have the chance to get behind the wheel and move toward independence. 🚗💜

Thanks to 100 Good Guys St. Pete, Madi’s Movement received funding to support our Driving Program , helping young adults overcome one of the biggest barriers they face: reliable transportation.

A driver’s license can mean getting to work, making it to school, attending appointments, and having the freedom to build a future without depending on someone else for every ride.

We were also grateful to spend the evening alongside so many incredible nonprofits and community members doing meaningful work throughout St. Pete.

We can’t wait to help even more young adults in St. Petersburg get on the road and on a path forward.

We’re joining forces. 💜

Fostering Hearts FL is becoming part of Madi’s Movement, bringing two missions together to create more opportunities and stronger support for young people impacted by foster care.

Founded by Katy Rey, Fostering Hearts FL has focused on helping close the education gap by creating safe, supportive spaces where foster youth can learn, build confidence, and access opportunities they may not otherwise have had.

We’re also excited to officially welcome Katy Rey as Madi’s Movement’s Chief Impact Officer!

Together, this means expanding educational opportunities, strengthening mentorship programs, growing our programs, and reaching even more young adults as they transition into adulthood.

$10,000 is putting young adults aging out of foster care in the driver’s seat. 🚗💜

Thanks to 200 Muslim Women Who Care, Madi’s Movement received $10,000 to expand our Driving Program and help remove one of the biggest barriers our young adults face: transportation!

Without a license or reliable transportation, getting to work, school, appointments, and safe housing becomes significantly harder. Young adults have to depend on strangers, unsafe relationships, or whoever is willing to give them a ride. Significantly increasing their vulnerability to exploitation, trafficking, and other unsafe situations by 50%.

This funding means more driving lessons, more licenses, more independence, and more doors opened.

A driver’s license is more than a card. It’s access that many of us take for granted. It’s safety. It’s freedom.

By age 24, only about half of young adults who aged out of foster care were employed.

That’s exactly why we created the Madi’s Movement Career Readiness Expo, to help turn “I need a job” into “I’m ready for one.”

Our young adults didn’t just walk through job booths. They built LinkedIn profiles, took professional headshots, strengthened their resumes, practiced interviewing through mock interviews, explored career paths, and then had the chance to put those new skills to work by meeting employers face-to-face.

Because preparing for a job is important, but connecting young adults to employers who are actually hiring is where opportunity becomes real.

That’s why having partners like ReEmployAbility in the room matters. They showed up with open positions, real job opportunities, and a willingness to hire and invest in young adults aging out of foster care.

This is what the Expo is designed to do: build confidence, prepare young adults for the workforce, and create direct pathways to employment.

The next opportunity starts with someone opening the door. Will your company be one of them?
