A BIG thank you to the board of directors of the Grow Financial Federal Credit Union Foundation for awarding us very generous grant funding.

The funds support our Single Parent Workforce Initiative, which helps parents develop court-admissible parenting plans that accerlerate participation in and education & training, at no cost to the family.

Yesterday the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations hosted Florida’s Talent Engine: Why Postsecondary Attainment is Everyone’s Business, featuring an incredible panel of partners who helped connect the dots between student opportunity, family awareness, and Florida’s future economy.

Thank you to Corrie Milton with the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Helios Education Foundation, Dr. Kimberly Krupa with Florida College Access Network, Shaqueria Myrick with the Florida Lottery and a special thanks to moderator Jeff Kunberger with Suncoast Credit Union!

From the economic impact of increasing college enrollment and attainment to the role employers can play in helping students explore future careers, to the scholarships and financial aid opportunities families may not realize are available, this conversation was full of important takeaways.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Jake Hornstein with Our Children Have Rights for pouring into our It’s a Single Mom Thing Life Development class as we tackled the very real and often overwhelming topic of navigating co-parenting plans.

Jake didn’t just come and speak—he stayed.
He listened.
He answered question after question.
He connected with each mom’s story.
He even began intake appointments right there, making sure no one left without a next step.

And what struck me most?
He shared that it’s not uncommon for him to be on the phone or Zoom at 10 PM… walking parents through some of their hardest moments.

That’s not just a service. That’s a calling.

This is what powerful nonprofit collaboration looks like—coming together to not only support moms, but to protect and advocate for their children. Because when we create healthier co-parenting dynamics, we are creating a better future for the kids at the center of it all.
