People count us out… but we’re trying to show that doesn’t define who we are.” 💙⛳️

We couldn’t be prouder to see First Tee Tallahassee’s Ian Kelley competing on the national stage with the STARS of the Spectrum Golf Tour in Orchard Park, New York.

Ian, a Special Olympics gold medalist, continues to show what’s possible through the game of golf, competing, building community and inspiring others along the way. And this week was even more special with his brother Joey serving as his caddie for the first time. 💚

This is so much bigger than golf. It’s about belonging, opportunity and showing the world that a disability does not define what someone is capable of accomplishing. (WKBW 7 News Buffalo⁠)

What an incredible moment for our First Tee Tallahassee family. 💚⛳️

Today at the Doug Flutie Golf Tournament, one of our own, Ian Kelley, received the coveted Dougie Jr. Award, an honor that represents so much more than what happens on the golf course. It recognizes someone who leads by example and shows unwavering love, support and encouragement to those around them.

The moment was an emotional one for Ian with Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation Executive Director Nick Savarese in tears while presenting the award, followed by an equally emotional acceptance speech. 🎤

Making the day even more special, Ian’s brother Joey served as his caddie for the very first time in his career, with his parents and Joey’s girlfriend, Izzy, there cheering him on.

And then came Ian’s words that mean so much to us:

“First Tee Tallahassee, this prestigious trophy is coming home where it belongs. Without our team, staff and coaches, I couldn’t have won this award. Thank you for all of your love, support and encouragement.” 🙏

We could not be more proud. This is exactly what First Tee is all about, building character, creating community and developing leaders both on and off the course. Congratulations on an honor so well deserved! 🏆⛳️

What an unforgettable day! ⛳️🏈

Yesterday, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism and the Stars of the Spectrum Golf Tour were invited to attend the Buffalo Bills’ first scrimmage at the brand-new Highmark Stadium!

Such an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience this historic moment together. We’re so grateful for experiences like these that celebrate inclusion, community, and creating opportunities for athletes of all abilities. 💙❤️

Another great season in the books at Southwood! ⛳️💚 congrats to the second southwood session.

From learning new skills to building confidence and friendships, our second session was filled with so many moments worth celebrating. Thank you to all of our players, families, coaches, and volunteers for making this summer one to remember.

We can’t wait to see everyone back on the course this fall! 🏌️🏌️‍♀️

That’s a wrap on our final 5:30–6:30 sessions at Southwood. ⛳️

What a summer it’s been! From first swings to personal bests, new friendships, and so many smiles, these evenings gave us memories we’ll never forget.

Thank you to every player, parent, coach, and volunteer who made this season so special. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone back on the course soon! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️💚
