Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah Weekly Luncheon — October 7th,2026

Since Bryce Felts was unable to attend our banquet, we were happy to present him with his Friendliest Certificate at Wednesday meeting. Congratulations, Bryce! 👏

Our guest speaker was Chris Wier, candidate for Oklahoma House District 4, who shared information about his platform and discussed topics including education, homelessness and other issues affecting our communities.

Thank you to Chris for joining us and sharing with our club!

At Kiwanis, we are proud to bring community members together, learn from one another and continue working to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families throughout our community. 💙

We look forward to hearing from all candidates who are interested in speaking to our club. If you are a candidate interested in visiting with us, please reach out to any Kiwanis board member.

Together, we make our community stronger!

Pajama Project Success!

September’s Pajama Project was a HUGE success! Thanks to the generosity of the Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah and our wonderful community, we were able to deliver 90+ brand-new pairs of pajamas, along with monetary donations to purchase even more.

These pajamas go to children entering immediate temporary foster care through DHS Child Welfare—children who may arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing. A new pair of pajamas may seem like a small thing, but to a child going through a difficult time, it can mean comfort, kindness and knowing someone cares. ❤️

Our September project may be over, but the need continues. We’ll gladly continue accepting donations and passing them along.

Thank you, Tahlequah, for caring for our kids! 🧸❤️

TODAY IS THE DAY! 🧸❤️ This is it—the final day of the Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah Pajama Project. One last day to help provide new pajamas and a little extra comfort for children in foster care. If you've donated, shared, challenged a friend or helped spread the word this month—THANK YOU. And if you've been waiting for the right time to help… it's today. Let's finish BIG!

TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY. ❤️ We've talked about pajamas all month because something so simple can mean something much bigger to a child going through a difficult transition. Tomorrow the Pajama Project comes to an end. If you've been waiting to help, don't wait any longer. Let's give this project one BIG final push, Tahlequah.

Just because the challenge is over doesn’t mean the need doesn’t keep going… please consider helping with the shortage for the children in need

GOODNIGHT SHOULD FEEL GOOD. 🌙 Fresh pajamas. A soft pillow. A favorite stuffed animal. Sometimes the simplest things provide a little comfort when everything else feels unfamiliar. That's the heart behind the Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah Pajama Project. Help us provide new pajamas for children in foster care. ❤️ Donate: https://pjp.kiwaniscluboftahlequah.com/

What a wonderful evening at the Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah’s Annual Membership Banquet!

Tonight was a celebration of friendship, service, and the incredible people who make our club so special. We enjoyed delicious food, wonderful fellowship, and a little friendly competition during our annual awards presentation.

Friendliest Kiwanian Award: We had a FIVE-WAY TIE, based on friendship dollars received throughout the fiscal year!

Perfect Attendance Awards: We recognized our dedicated members who showed up and served throughout the year.

Kiwanian of the Year: Congratulations to Juanita Keener on receiving this honor!

We also enjoyed a special presentation from our very own Sue Catron, who now serves as Lieutenant Governor for our district.

It was a fun-filled evening of laughter, appreciation, and friendship. If you’re not yet a member of Kiwanis, we encourage you to consider joining us! We have a wonderful time, build lifelong friendships, and, most importantly, remember that it’s all about the children!

The Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah was pleased to welcome Miss Tanya Jones, Superintendent of Tahlequah Public Schools, as our guest speaker at Wednesday’s weekly luncheon!

Miss Jones shared updates on all the exciting things happening throughout our schools, including the ROAR program and the many positive initiatives focused on our students and their success. There is so much to look forward to in our school system!

Thanks to the support of our community and the passage of the bond, we are investing in brighter futures and better opportunities for our kids.

During the luncheon, Kiwanis Club of Tahlequah was proud to present a donation to the Gold CAR Program, which Miss Jones graciously accepted.

Kiwanis is always proud to be a part of the lives of children throughout Cherokee County and to support programs that make a difference in our community.

Thank you, Miss Jones, for sharing all the great things happening in Tahlequah Public Schools and for your dedication to our students! 💙🐯
