BRIGHT FUTURES VISION-

Bright Futures provides a path for communities to engage everyone in a collective movement to develop relationships and channel resources supporting education and enabling children to achieve success. We are so excited 🥰 to see local families gather tomorrow night at Cherokee Elementary School for Picnic on the Playground. 🧡💙 🥪 💙🧡

Bright Futures Tahlequah believes that when families and schools come together, amazing things happen. Research shows that students with involved parents are much more likely to succeed — they attend school more regularly, feel more confident, earn better grades, and are more likely to graduate and further their education. 🤝 🎓

That’s what Picnic on the Playground is all about: quality time with your family, open conversation with teachers and school staff, and building a strong community of support for our students.

Bring a blanket and let’s enjoy some fresh air and great company — we look forward to seeing you there!!! 🧺

Bright Futures Tahlequah is a group of dedicated servant leaders brought together by the Leadership Tahlequah Class of 25. The purpose is to create connections for success between the Tahlequah Public Schools and community resources while opening opportunities for area schools to share in the resources.

Our Tahlequah is rich in giving and loving people and organizations. This resource is provided by Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce

Bright Futures Tahlequah partners with the Lunch Bunch Program at Cherokee Elementary School, which invites parents and family members to eat with their children at lunch.
We understand that many children will not have someone join them on their special Lunch Bunch Day. Lunch Buddies will be available to fill the gap with unaccompanied children.

If this sounds like something that you would love to do, please fill out the application soon! Our safety committee must approve all Lunch Buddies. See attached.

With the objective being to build true, organic connections with the students, we ask that each Lunch Buddy serve at least once a month and try to be consistent with the grade that you choose.

Applications can be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at the Outreach Center at 403 Mission Ave.

Happy August Friends and Community Partners-

We are thrilled to share that the Bright Futures Tahlequah group will continue it's partnership with Cherokee Elementary and their Lunch Bunch Program.

We are currently seeking Lunch Buddies to commit to one day a month through the 25/26 the school year.

The Lunch Bunch program invites family members of students to eat lunch with them on their special "Lunch Bunch" day. This is always so exciting, but sometimes family members are unable to attend. This can cause many different emotions within school age children. But... We are the Lunch Buddies- we have lunch with unaccompanied students on their lunch bunch day.

We ask that if this sounds like something that you would be interested in, please fill out the attached volunteer application. (all buddies must pass a background check). Applications can be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at the Outreach Center at 403 Mission Ave.

Once approved, you will be contacted by a Bright Futures Tahlequah member, and we will work with you to schedule you appropriately!
