We’re going on a BIG adventure! 🎉 Person First Services is planning a trip to Dollywood the week of November 9th, and we would love our community’s help making this exciting experience possible for the individuals we support! 🏔️🎡

Each ticket is estimated to be $75, and we will be taking individuals along with their accompanying staff. For many of our folks, opportunities like this create memories, build independence, encourage community inclusion, and—most importantly—give us a chance to have FUN together! ❤️

🚑💙 HUGE shoutout to Harris Regional EMS in Jackson County!💙🚑

We were so thankful to have them visit our program today to talk about safety, learning healthy habits, and knowing what to do in an emergency. They gave everyone the chance to learn more about the ambulance and what our First Responders do! 🚑

Visits like this are so important because they help our individuals feel more comfortable and confident around First Responders while learning that they are always there to help keep us safe.

A BIG thank you to Harris Regional EMS for taking the time to spend the day with us, answer questions, teach us, and make learning about safety FUN!

We appreciate all that you do for our community! 🫶🚑

✨ **HAPPY DSP APPRECIATION WEEK!** ✨

This week, we’re taking a little extra time to celebrate the incredible **Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)** who show up every day with compassion, patience, dedication, and a whole lot of heart! 🫶

Being a DSP is so much more than a job. It’s being a friend, an advocate, a cheerleader, a problem-solver, a teacher, a listener, and sometimes even the person who can make a tough day just a little bit better.

Our staff were so thankful to have Tom with Zen Bodyworks Studio at the office this morning for a Monday Massage to kick off DSP Appreciation week!! 💆‍♀️ 💆‍♂️

It was an honor today to provide chair massage for the staff at Person First Services- Sylva, NC. This staff works tirelessly to provide much needed support services for individuals with disabilities.

🧸💕 What an ADVENTURE our Teddy Bears had! 💕🧸

We had SO much fun celebrating National Teddy Bear Day at Person First Services! We got creative and made our very own teddy bears — each one as unique and special as the person who created it. 🐻🎨

But we didn’t stop there! Our new furry friends got to experience Sylva, NC with us! We took our Teddy Bears downtown, explored, got some exercise, enjoyed the fresh air, found favorite foods, visited familiar places, made new friends, and captured lots of fun memories along the way! 📸🌳🏔️

Hot dogs, popsicles, sparklers, Pop Its, and red, white, & blue confetti cannons were the perfect way to celebrate America's **250th Anniversary** at Person First Services! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Nothing beats seeing our individuals smiling, laughing, and making memories together. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day weekend!

For the **second year in a row**, we have been incredibly blessed by the amazing team from Revolution Church in Georgia! ❤️

There simply aren't enough words to express how thankful we are for your servant hearts and willingness to jump in wherever help was needed.

This week, your team tackled projects that will make a lasting impact on our program, including:
🌿 Landscaping around our facility
🪵 Digging out a HUGE tree stump
🌱 Trimming and clearing the overgrown bank
🪑 Purchasing and assembling furniture to create a cozy, accessible outdoor space for our individuals
🏠 Putting together a new outdoor storage shed
📦 Organizing our storage rooms
…and so much more!

You also helped make our **2nd Annual Spring Into Summer Social** for the IDD community an unforgettable day! From dancing alongside our individuals to bringing leis, hula skirts, endless smiles, and incredible energy, you made everyone feel celebrated, included, and loved.

Your kindness, compassion, and dedication are a true reflection of what it means to serve others. The impact you've made reaches far beyond the projects you completed—you've touched the hearts of our participants, staff, and families.

TODAY's PFS Shout Out! 🎉

Recently, we have had an incredible amount of support from our community, and this week we want to recognize those who help keep PFS running.

Our first shout-out goes to Luke Hopkins and his two small helpers for grading our back driveway! We had this access point before, but after months of weather and heavy rain, it had been washed away. Thanks to their hard work, we once again have a safe and usable driveway that allows vehicles to travel up and down with ease and provides an additional exit for assistance when needed.

We are so grateful for your time, effort, and willingness to help make improvements that benefit everyone at PFS. Thank you, Luke, for making this possible! ❤️👏
