🚜 Farm Week got a little bigger and a lot more exciting today! 🚜

A huge thank you to Joe Freitag for bringing his big John Deere tractor to Sumner Daycare and Learning Center for our children to explore during Farm Week!

Our kids were absolutely amazed as they climbed up into the cab, checked out all the controls, and got an up-close look at a piece of equipment that plays such an important role in our farming community. Experiences like this help bring learning to life and give our children a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our local farmers.

Thank you, Joe, for taking the time to share your tractor and your passion with us.

This morning was extra special in our kids! Aiden Koester brought in his farm animals to share with our friends, and it quickly turned into a hands-on learning experience full of excitement and curiosity.

The children enjoyed exploring each animal bringing lots of smiles all around.

We love when families help bring learning to life in such a meaningful way. Thank you, Aiden, for sharing your farm friends with us today! 🐄🐇🐓🐶

🐄🚜Today our little learners enjoyed a hands-on sensory experience using farm animals and mud play!

We set up a simple invitation to play where children used farm animal figures and natural “mud” materials to explore textures, imagination, and early storytelling. The children loved getting the animals messy, moving them through the mud, and creating their own little farm scenes.

After lots of exploration and creativity, the best part came next—washing the animals clean! This added another layer of sensory learning as the children used water, brushes, and teamwork to scrub, rinse, and care for their animals. It was a great way to practice responsibility, fine motor skills, and cause-and-effect learning while keeping the fun going from start to finish.

Sensory play like this supports language development, creativity, and social skills, all while letting children learn through play in a meaningful way.

Yesterday, we were excited to welcome Braelyn and Linkan Suckow, who stopped by to share their hard-earned medals with our children. They talked about their experiences and showed our kids what dedication, practice, and perseverance can accomplish. The children loved seeing the medals up close and hearing about their achievements!

Braelyn and Linkan also led the children in some activities, giving everyone a chance to get moving, work together, and have fun. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and cheering as the kids encouraged one another throughout the activities.

We were also fortunate to have Coach Leete visit and speak with the children about what it means to be a good teammate. He shared valuable lessons about kindness, encouragement, respect, and working together toward a common goal—important skills both on and off the field.

Thank you to Braelyn, Linkan, and Coach Leete for taking the time to invest in our children and be such positive role models. We appreciate community members who help inspire our young learners to work hard, support others, and believe in themselves!

🌱 Exciting things are happening in our garden! 🌱

Just last week, our children rolled up their sleeves, dug into the soil, and planted seeds in our garden. We are thrilled to share that many of those seeds are already beginning to sprout!

The children have been eagerly checking on their plants each day, watching firsthand as their hard work and patience start to pay off. Gardening provides wonderful opportunities to learn about nature, responsibility, and the growing process while creating lasting memories.

We can’t wait to continue caring for our garden and watching it grow throughout the summer. Be sure to follow along as we share updates on our little gardeners’ big accomplishments!🥬🫛🥕
