🚨 IOWA UTV ROAD LAWS (Quick Guide)

✔️ Driver Requirements
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license
• Must carry proof of insurance 

✔️ Speed Limit
• Max 35 MPH on public roads 

✔️ Where You Can Ride
• Allowed on 2-lane roads & county roads
• NOT allowed on interstates or 4-lane highways 
• Cities/counties may have additional rules

✔️ Required Equipment
• Headlights (ON at all times) 
• Tail lights & brake lights 
• Horn & mirror 
• Slow-moving vehicle sign on back 

✔️ Registration
• Must have Iowa DNR registration sticker

✔️ Safety Rules
• No drinking/open containers
• No impaired driving

📌 Important 2026 Updates
• $5 late fee on DNR registration renewals after Jan 1
• 📵 NEW Hands-Free Law: No holding your phone while driving (fines $200–$300)
• 🌽 Ag exemption may apply within 2 miles of a farm
• 🍺 Open container laws apply – don’t ride impaired

📍 Ten Wasp Brewing – Sumner

🕗 Opening Times:
• Jimmy D’s (Hawkeye): 7:00 AM
• Clocktower Koselig (Sumner): 8:00 AM
• All other stops: 10:00 AM
• Ten Wasp Brewing: Noon

You can ride either direction to help spread things out—
Start in Sumner and head toward Tripoli, or go the opposite way toward Hawkeye.

☀️ The weather is looking GREAT, so grab your friends, fire up your ride, and come out for a fun day supporting SEMS!

📍 113 E 1st St, Sumner, IA

📝 UTV & All Vehicle Ride Registration:
• Begins at 9:00 AM
• $25 per vehicle (includes one rider)
• $10 for each additional poker hand
• 🏆 Top 3 poker hands will be announced & paid out at 5:00 PM

🎟️ Raffles & Silent Auction:
• Available all day at the American Legion until 5:30 PM
• Winners announced shortly after

🍔 Free Will Donation BBQ – Open to EVERYONE!
(No need to ride to join us!)
• Starts at 4:30 PM
