Mt Jefferson Snowmobile Club (MJSC) is your friendly local snowmobile community serving Stayton, Sublimity, Jefferson, and the Santiam Pass area of Oregon. Our club welcomes snowmobilers of all experience levels—from beginners and families looking for safe, scenic trail rides to experienced adventurers seeking expert and extreme terrain. MJSC offers a unique four-level ride rating system (Beginnin

g, Intermediate, Expert, Extreme) so every rider can find a group and trail that matches their skill, comfort, and adventure goals. Every club ride includes clear descriptions and friendly guidance from our ride coordinators, so newcomers and long-time riders alike can enjoy Oregon’s snowmobile country with confidence. All riders on MJSC-sponsored rides are required to wear approved helmets and clothing for the weather, and either hold a valid driver’s license or have completed a snowmobile safety class. We partner with local and state snowmobile groups to offer safety classes every season—details and registration at www.mtjefferson.org and at the Oregon State Snowmobile Association website. Wondering about trail conditions, upcoming rides, or local events? Our website (https://www.mtjefferson.org) and page feature up-to-date info on snowmobile rides, groomed trail reports, safety tips, work parties, club meetings, and community events. Be sure to check there for weather and snow updates, ride sign-ups, and news from Santiam Pass. MJSC is proud to be a nonprofit community since 1971—bringing together riders from Stayton, Sublimity, Jefferson, and beyond to promote safety, fun, and friendship in Oregon’s snowmobiling scene. Whether you’re new to the sport or an experienced rider, we invite you to join us for a ride, make new friends, and help us keep the trails open and safe for all. Message us here on Facebook or email [email protected]. You’re always welcome at our next meeting or community event!

Attention Sledders. We are having another work party on Saturday May 16th. Bring your SXS and ATVs.

Wind storms dropped trees all over our trails and we need to keep up with clearing.

Got a sawyer card? Bring your saw - the more sawyers we have, the more ground we cover. If we get enough people, we'll split into multiple trail crews and knock this out fast. No card? No problem - we need swampers to drag, rig, and roll.

Let's get it done. 💪

Well folks, we tried… 😔

Due to the Forest Service not issuing us a permit to operate wheeled vehicles on the trails before the summer season opens, (even though we are volunteering) we will have to cancel our work party that was scheduled for tomorrow, April 18.

We are tentatively planning another in mid May, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

As always, for those of you sledders who own ATVs and SxS’s, if you find yourself out and about and would like to clean up the trails as you go, please feel free to do so, but PLEASE RECORD YOUR MILES. This terrible snow year means we didn’t groom the trails nearly enough and the lack of recorded miles could affect our funding for the next year. We can make that up however with trail work to get the trails in shape for next year. For questions or more information regarding this, please reach out to Ray Benson at 503-871-5813

Thank you all for your continued support of the club!!!!

This is what you’ve all been waiting for! The initial grooming for the high trails is done on Santiam Pass. Snow was cold and flowed like champagne powder. We will post the other groomers map soon but both cats were out last night.

Still be careful of the water. Trail 1 remains ungroomed due to low snow and water hazards. We need about 45” of snow to cover the rocks and water on that trail.

Have fun!!
