The Courage Fund

The Courage Fund The Courage Fund's mission is to fund education and create opportunities for impoverished youth in Ghana, West Africa in memory of Courage Adibo Minten

Courage Minten was born in Ghana, West Africa and was adopted to the United States in 2014. He stayed in contact with his younger siblings, Abigail & Derrick. He worked summers during high school at a lumber mill and helped them financially to attend school. Without an education in Ghana, jobs are very limited. Education costs a lot of money that many do not have. School fees, which include tuitio

n, school supplies, admission forms, entrance exams, uniforms, books, electricity and more, put an education out of reach for millions of Ghanaian children. During senior year in high school, Courage and his friend Eli chose their senior project to be “Education for Courage’s Siblings” and fundraised with the help of a friend to build a savings and continue to support their education. They raised about $8,000. In July 2022, Courage suddenly and tragically passed away. A pill someone gave him for pain relief was actually a fake oxycodone pill and laced with two times the amount of fentanyl to be lethal. (follow on Instagram)

The Courage Fund's mission is to continue what Courage started: to fund education for youth in greater Accra, Ghana, West Africa, empowering and preparing them for a successful future and fund opportunities. The Courage Fund is a 501c(3) nonprofit charity. Tax ID #88-3091622

Meet Alvin
Alvin is a sweet, hopeful 6-year-old boy with a big smile and a deep desire to learn. He loves dancing and drumming. Like so many children his age, he dreams of going to school and becoming someone who can make a difference one day. Alvin wants to become a doctor so he can save lives.

Tragically, Alvin’s mother passed away, and his relatives are unable to care for him at this time. In the midst of this loss and uncertainty, Joshua and his family opened their hearts and home to Alvin, giving him safety, stability, and love. While Alvin now has a place to belong, he still needs help to receive the education every child deserves.

Alvin will attend the same school as Joshua’s daughter, Michelle, so they can ride the bus together. His school expenses, which include tuition, workbooks, supplies, uniforms, lunch, and transportation, total $150 per month.

If you feel led to help, every gift—large or small—helps move Alvin one step closer to a brighter future. You can choose to contribute any portion of the $150 monthly need through a recurring PayPal donation, via Venmo, by mailing a check, or by contacting us to set up a recurring donation or with a one-time donation.

Your generosity can give Alvin more than an education—it can give him hope and the chance to build a future filled with promise.
