Kiki is about 873 years old, completely blind and the most accurate clock in the house.
This video, featuring Snow Pea. I've posted about her before but she's a little Maltese that was de-barked by her breeder so you can see her here, excited and "singing her silent song!"

Fern and River update!

They are very happy to have each other and have been spending lots of time together.
On the flip side, River has been here ten days longer than Fern so she is used to business around here already whereas it is ALL new to Fern.
We are giving her space in the "getting to know you suite" as she navigates her new life. She is a sweet, sweet girl and will be part of the family in no time.

River has been feeling noticeably better since her vet appointment, medication and medicated baths. Her itchy skin looks less inflamed already and she is wonderful with the other dogs...EXCEPT FOR MISHA who she thinks she needs to boss around. I've been laying the law down for what behavior is acceptable around here and bullying isn't on the list, so River is learning she doesn't need to police anyone.
I think all my dogs have learned what "don't be a grumpy gills" means when I say it.
Really ruling with an iron fist around here, right...

I wonder how many people drove past her.
A sad, sick cat on a rural back road.

Thankfully, our friend Kaylee was traveling that road today and decided this soul mattered enough to stop for.
One "kitty, kitty" and her little face turned up from the weeds and she made a beeline to safety. A muffled purr and a scratchy voice full of meows, she stayed close to Kaylee as she messaged me asking if I'd be willing to help. I immediately responded, "It's Karen reincarnated!" Remembering my beloved Karen, found in similar health, who I lost in February 2025.
Kaylee scooped her up and brought her to me. She has had a bath, tons of matted and f***s caked fur combed away, a blow dry, and a long thorough brushing that she enjoyed immensely! So far she has eaten four 3oz cans of wet food, she is so thin and has a voracious appetite. She has very few teeth and, I'm no cat expert, but seems like her previous owner was probably one of the disciples (aka old as heck).
Welcome home Señorita Karenita, we're so glad you're here. (Also hi, Karen. It's really good to see you again.)
