A two-month joint law enforcement operation in Texas resulted in the arrest of 276 suspects and the rescue of 89 children from online exploitation. The operation, known as "Operation Soteria Shield," was conducted from March through April 2026 by the FBI Dallas Division's North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force in partnership with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators targeted individuals involved in trafficking, s*xual assault, and the possession or distribution of child s*xual abuse material across multiple Texas jurisdictions. The operation involved 91 law enforcement agencies and 197 law enforcement personnel. It is part of the FBI's national enforcement initiative called "Operation Iron Pursuit," focused on combating online child exploitation across the country. Authorities say cases remain active and that additional charges may be filed as digital forensic examinations of seized devices continue. FBI Dallas officials described the operation as one of the most significant child exploitation enforcement actions in Texas history. The 89 children rescued are receiving care and support through child advocacy services. A Major Step for Child Exploitation Cases 🚨

A new federal measure will fund 200 additional child exploitation investigators and forensic analysts, along with more than $100 million invested in efforts to fight child exploitation and trafficking.

Introduced by Sen. Josh Hawley and supported by Tim Tebow, founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation, the measure was signed into law by President Trump.

58 ARRESTED IN MARION COUNTY UNDERCOVER CHILD PREDATOR STING

The Marion County Sheriff's Office says 58 people were arrested in a weeklong undercover operation called "Operation Bad Habits," which targeted adults accused of trying to meet children for s*x. Chris Hansen was part of the operation and appeared in the video release by the sheriff's office.

Detectives posed online as children between the ages of 7 and 15. Investigators say those arrested contacted the undercover detectives and arranged to meet who they believed were children.

Several of those arrested also face human trafficking charges after investigators say they tried to pay for access to children. According to the sheriff's office, those arrested included fathers, coaches, teachers and a high school student. A youth football coach was among those highlighted, along with several people identified as non-U.S. citizens.

The operation involved multiple agencies, including FDLE, the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Marshals Service, Florida Highway Patrol and others.
"Florida has no tolerance for this," Sheriff Billy Woods said, adding that agencies will continue doing everything they can to protect children.

The sheriff's office says additional details are expected to be released. The case remains under investigation.

A missing 5-year-old girl was returned safely to her mother after ICE HSI Los Angeles, the U.S. Marshals Service and the LA County Sheriff’s Office arrested her father June 2 in Glendale, CA.

41-year-old Christopher Meithof, a paroled s*x offender, allegedly abducted Amaya Meithof from her mother’s home in Nevada May 31.
