Miniature lab-grown kidneys are helping unlock big medical discoveries at Stony Brook University. Shiya Lin ’27 is using these small organs, or organoids, to study kidney disease and test potential treatments — and is our June URECA Researcher of the Month.

From presenting her work at research symposia to preparing her first scientific manuscripts, Shiya is building a strong foundation for her goal of becoming a physician-scientist. We can't wait to see what's next.
