The impact of a great mentor can last a lifetime. For Veerabhadran “Ram” Ramanathan, PhD ’74, Stony Brook University professor Robert D. Cess was more than an adviser. He was a mentor whose kindness and guidance helped shape Ram’s career and legacy in climate science.

Now, Ram is honoring Cess’ lasting influence by establishing a memorial scholarship to support future generations of SoMAS Seawolves.
