Today when we got to The Center, we found this little guy stuffed in the fence. He was Stuck was not able to get out. Eva was able to get him out and we took him back to The Center. My staff members Eva and Jovan gave him a bath with dawn, dish soap and killed the fleas that were just swarming his little body. We got connected to a woman that would take him in from my good friend Jill and he was happy as can be when he left The Center today. Teamwork really does make a difference.

THE RED RABBIT KENNELS ARE FULL!!

Princess, She has so much energy! She wears us all out! She is in need of a family with kids to keep her busy! We are fostering Buddy while his owner is in Skilled Nursing, we just brought in Roxy and TJ for about 4 weeks while their mom gets stable housing through the Family Shelter with her kids. Also today, we took in 2 pitties, mom and son, Ausha and Thor while their parents go complete trucking school for 6 weeks. There was no way they could afford boarding as they are struggling with homelessness. We have supported them with finances in gas and oil to get them to their destination as well. We are all for hand ups and supporting those who are truly trying to redirect their lives.

I think we are going to have to put up a new motto here at Red Rabbit. “WHERE THERES A WILL THERES A WAY!”

To donate to support our work in the community, text “RABBIT” to 26989 or visit our website at www.redrabbitenterprises.com.

My helpers Eva and Jovan are volunteer staff that show up day in and day out to care for these fur babies. I am blessed to have them!

I am heartbroken to find out we lost another one. Our friend Chris from the northside, who was a veteran, was tragically killed in a hit and run a month ago on I-5. I don’t know how he got out to French Camp because Chris never left this neighborhood. He would come to my house whenever he needed something and I tried many times to connect him for help.

SHAME ON YOU to whomever struck this man and just left. He fought for this country as well as just being a good human being.

We are not moving quickly enough in bringing outside the box solutions for our most vulnerable unhoused people. They need special care. The system is too cookie cutter. I feel so frustrated over this because had we had the opportunity to build what we have been talking about for 5 years now, things like this could be avoided. Just makes me keep going.

RIP Chris. I will miss opening my front door to see your face. You are loved. You are at peace with our God in Heaven in Jesus name. 💔

A Stockton man, Christopher George Funk Jr., was killed in a hit-and-run on Interstate 5, according to CHP.
