🎶✨ In Honor of the Very First National Free Outdoor Concerts Month ✨🎶

Thanks to the , Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series didn’t just bring people together - it activated something powerful in our city.

Throughout history, gatherings centered on rhythmic expressions have catalyzed societal transformation. These moments of collective engagement stimulate a sense of belonging, enriching lives and cultivating an atmosphere where cooperation flourishes. When people unite in creative pursuit, the fabric of shared identity weaves tighter, illuminating the beauty found within varied backgrounds.

This is what happens when free, accessible live music fills a public space. People show up not just to watch, but to participate.

We can't wait to get back to it beginning on September 12th!

Father’s Day can mean a lot of different things. For some, it’s a day to celebrate the dads, granddads, and father figures who show up with love, patience, and steady support. For others, it’s a day that brings memories, grief, or complicated feelings.

Whether you are celebrating, missing someone, or simply moving through the day in your own way on Sunday, we see you.

Wishing our community comfort, connection, and peace this Father’s Day. 💙

✨ Juneteenth: Freedom, Reflection, and Community ✨

Juneteenth honors the day in 1865 when the final enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a day that reminds us that freedom, justice, and dignity must be protected and pursued for everyone.

As a community, we pause to reflect on the strength, resilience, and brilliance of Black Americans whose contributions continue to shape our nation and our neighborhoods. Juneteenth is not only a moment in history, but is a call to keep building a future rooted in equity, opportunity, and belonging.

In observance of the holiday, our offices will be closed on Thursday, June 18. We will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, June 22 at 9 a.m. (Our offices are closed on Fridays.)

Wishing all our residents, staff and community a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth.

🎶💙 Lauren Anderson & the Blue House Band gave us a show we’ll be talking about all summer. They absolutely rocked the house! And huge shoutout to Gunsmoke & Grace, who set the tone beautifully with music that was warm, soulful, and full of heart. 💙🎶

But the best part was YOU:

Kids running, neighbors dancing, families spread out in chairs and on blankets, and attendees jumping up to help put away chairs at the end...because that’s just who we are. Like all our concerts so far, it felt like community in motion.

Thank you to our partners, vendors, community organizations and attendees for bringing the joy, the energy, and the love this Spring. We can't wait until the fall series begins on September 12 with Cam Clark & His Orchestra! Stay tuned...

On this episode of Keys to Home, Justice sits down with Zerlene, manager of our Housing Choice Voucher Department, to talk about two things every voucher holder should know:

🏡 How you can move from Housing Choice Voucher rental to homeowner
📄 Why reporting income changes on time protects your assistance and your future goals

These two topics go hand‑in‑hand, and understanding them can open real doors for your family. Watch the conversation, get the facts, and take your next step with confidence. Your path to stability and homeownership starts with staying informed.

💲💳 Be sure to keep an eye out for our budget and credit class in the fall!

Even with Levitt AMP Spring edition in full swing, we didn't miss a beat 🥁

Our work across the community never slowed down. SHA stayed focused on what matters most: our residents and our mission.

Speaking of our mission, our Board recently voted to adjust the mission to better align with the work we do and believe in: To provide affordable housing and supportive programming for eligible individuals to improve their quality of life.

And our commitment remains the same:
Building Community Bridges Through Partnerships.

So while we were making connections during the spring Levitt AMP Statesville Music Series, we were also out in the community connecting families to resources, supporting residents, strengthening partnerships, and keeping the work moving forward.

Music brings us together — but our mission keeps us moving!
