🎭 Calling All Stage Managers! 🎭

Theatre Statesville is looking for a Stage Manager to join us for our upcoming summer production of Shakespeare: An Evening of Scenes, Sonnets and Soliloquies.

This is a small, intimate production with a talented cast and just two performances, so it's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping bring a show together without the demands of a large-scale production.

We're seeking someone organized, communicative, and comfortable keeping rehearsals and performances running smoothly. Experience with stage management is preferred.

If you love theatre, Shakespeare, and being an essential part of the creative process, we'd love to connect with you!

Meet Kaitlyn Rinehimer as the Fairy Godmother in *Disney's Descendants: The Musical!

As headmistress of Auradon Prep, Fairy Godmother is determined to teach the next generation that goodness isn't something you're born with—it's something you choose every day.

While many students see Fairy Godmother as strict and stern, Kaitlyn says the reality is a little different: she's actually sweet... just very stressed trying to keep Auradon running smoothly!

One of Kaitlyn's favorite moments on stage is hearing the audience laugh. "If the audience laughs, then I know I am playing the part right," she says.

At the heart of Fairy Godmother's story is a message she hopes every student remembers:

"Goodness is a skill. It doesn't matter who your parents are. If you can learn to be good, perhaps it's possible for everyone."

Meet Macyn Stone as Mal in Disney’s Descendants: The Musical!

Strong, sharp, and carrying more beneath the surface than people expect, Mal’s story is one of figuring out who she is and deciding who she wants to become. We asked Macyn a few questions about her character:

What do you think people misunderstand most about Mal?
“People think Mal is naturally evil because she’s a VK, but she’s always been different. She has always had goodness in her and just needed to figure out who she wanted to be.”

What is Mal most afraid of?
“Mal is most afraid of disappointing her mother. Even when she tries to be herself, that fear still follows her.”

If Mal had a personal motto, what would it be?
“Be evil, be evil. It’s what she grew up hearing her whole life.”

Which song or scene is your favorite to perform and why?
“My favorite is ‘Break This Down’ because it’s energetic and fun. I also love that I get to interact with every character during the number.”

What’s one thing you hope audiences notice about Mal?
“I hope audiences notice Mal’s snarky expressions and confident attitude. Those little moments really show her personality.”
