One of our members had a chance to visit with Amelia Williams at American Legion Auxiliary Mississippi Magnolia Girls State!! Amelia is the first student we've sponsored since our Auxiliary became active again. Amelia will visit the post in August to tell us about her experience.

During our meeting this week we heard from the students we sponsored to attend Boys State 2026 and met their families.

Our June meeting will host the students and their families we sponsored to Boys State. We will provide hamburgers and hotdogs with condiments. If the members can bring a side dish it's appreciated. Think backyard BBQ. Baked beans, potato salad, pasta salad, chips, deserts, etc. And bring a veteran friend.

Our Post 1st Vice Commander and Finance Officer attended the Legion Fish Fry at Boys State. They visited with the four students we sponsored. They are invited to our June meeting to tell us about their experience. Make plans to come meet them June 9th.

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our oldest post member Mr. Joe Mobley. He celebrated his 100th birthday this year.
His funeral is set for Saturday, May 30 at Welch Funeral Home. Visitation is 0900-1030. The service is immediately following at the chapel at 10:30. Burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
