WHAT WE DO: Re-engage and re-connect youth to education and employment to succeed in school, work, and beyond. Through a constellation of individualized support programs, Domus works closely with community partners to help disconnected and disengaged youth forge their own paths to self-sufficiency – including graduating from high school, acquiring real-world job skills, and securing full-time employment. This support builds a strong foundation that empowers youth to rise above adversity and thrive as productive members of our shared communities.

What a celebration!

Last week, we had the incredible joy of celebrating 10 young people who graduated from the Academy for Career Readiness at Northwell Health's !

We couldn't be prouder of these graduates, who have worked hard, embraced new challenges, and taken an exciting step toward careers in healthcare. Their determination, growth, and accomplishments are what this work is all about.

Through hands-on hospital experiences, workforce training, and individualized coaching, the Academy helps young people build the skills, confidence, and connections they need to pursue meaningful careers and brighter futures.

None of this would be possible without an extraordinary group of partners. Thank you to , Northwell's Norwalk Hospital, the McChord Foundation, and the (CTOP) for believing in our young people and helping create opportunities that can truly change lives. We are so grateful for your partnership and shared commitment to their success.

And to our 10 graduates: This celebration was all about YOU! We are proud of everything you've accomplished, and we can't wait to see where your journeys take you next.

Dream it. Plan it. Build it. 🌟

Last week, our students used connection time to slow down, think about the future, and create vision boards reflecting their goals, dreams, and the things that motivate them.

Activities like these give our young people space to express themselves, imagine what’s possible, and turn their aspirations into something they can see and work toward.

We were grateful to welcome the Dalio Education team for a recent site visit to Hope Street Island Park, where they had the opportunity to see a beautification project in action.

Projects like this give our young people the chance to contribute to their community, take pride in their work, and see the tangible impact they can have on the spaces around them.

Preserving a Landmark. Investing in Young People. Building Community.

We are proud to announce a new partnership supporting the restoration and rehabilitation of the historic —an iconic landmark with deep roots in the Stamford community and a new chapter ahead.

This multi-phased restoration project is being led by co-founders Gary Kalan and Brendan McGee, who joined forces with a shared commitment to saving this important piece of Stamford’s history and returning it to a place of renewed purpose and possibility.

What makes this partnership especially meaningful is the opportunity it creates for young people connected to DomusWorks.

Through their participation in this project, young people are gaining positive exposure to a significant community initiative while experiencing firsthand what it means to contribute to something larger than themselves. They are seeing preservation, craftsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and community investment come together and, importantly, they are being recognized as contributors to the future of their community.

The lighthouse represents history. The restoration represents possibility. And the young people involved represent the future.

Community reinvestment is at its most powerful when it does more than restore a building- it creates opportunities, builds confidence, opens doors, and gives the next generation a meaningful stake in the places they call home.

We are grateful to everyone helping bring this vision to life and proud to celebrate the young people whose energy, presence, and participation are becoming part of the lighthouse’s next chapter.

Our young people have been putting in the work and building real-world skills working on Stamford’s West Side throughout the summer.

Through hands-on experience, teamwork, and responsibility, they are learning what it means to show up, work hard, and take pride in making a difference in their community.

We are so proud of their effort, growth, and commitment. These experiences are about more than the work itself, they are about building confidence, developing skills, and creating opportunities for the future.

We were grateful to welcome State Representative Corey Paris to Domus for a meaningful conversation with our DomusWorks young adults.

As a member of Stamford’s legislative delegation, Rep. Paris has consistently supported Domus and championed opportunities that help young people move forward. His belief in their potential is reflected not only in his words, but in his work to advance legislation that supports their upward mobility and strengthens our community.

At Domus, we know that learning and growth happen everywhere, not just in the classroom.

Our Domus Knights recently took the train into New York City for a day of exploration, including a visit to the wax museum and lunch together. Experiences like these give our young people the chance to see new places, try new things, build confidence, and expand their view of what the world has to offer.

We’re proud to help create opportunities that open doors, spark curiosity, and broaden horizons.

We’re grateful for the continued support of Stamford and her commitment to the young people in our community!

On the first day of school, Mayor Simmons stopped by Stamford High School and took a moment to connect with juniors Zion Brown and Marley Garcia and senior Brianna Saunders before they headed to class.

Support from community leaders matters. It reinforces for our young people that Stamford is invested in their success, their futures, and the opportunities ahead of them. Thank you, Mayor Simmons, for continuing to show up for Domus, our students, and Stamford’s youth!

It’s a big week for the young people of Domus!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Adult Education student Gerlyn Montan, who passed her U.S. citizenship test and attended her naturalization ceremony on August 21!

At Domus, we’re here to support young people through so many different milestones, endeavors, and life changes. Whether it’s education, employment, personal growth, or a moment as meaningful as becoming a U.S. citizen, we’re honored to be there along the way.
