SoldierStrong was originally incorporated under the Parent Name Start Now, Inc. Inc) as “SoldierSocks” (Soldier Socks Inc) on September 18th, 2009, in compliance with the laws of the state of Connecticut. Federal tax identification number is 80-0422929. “SoldierSocks” and StartNow! Inc operated as a combined organization though each supporting their separate causes for the veterans of our armed se

rvices. Due to the growth and success of SoldierSocks over the years, the decision was made that it should operate as its own entity. On November 26, 2013, SoldierSocks was officially “spun-off” from its parent and incorporated independently as a non-profit public benefit corporation under the name Soldier Socks Inc. Federal tax identification number was 46-2142225. A few years later and as our original mission of collecting and shipping care packages to troops overseas shifted to serving the needs of returning veterans, it was decided that our name should better reflect our new missions. On August 29th, 2015, our name was officially amended and changed to “SoldierStrong” (SoldierStrong Inc). It still operates under the Federal Tax ID 46-2142225.

At SoldierStrong, we honor those who step forward in moments that define history.

In a recent episode of SoldierStrong Chairman Dr. Chris Meek's podcast Next Steps Forward, retired Lt. Gen. Marc Sasseville shares his firsthand account of September 11, 2001, and the extraordinary responsibility he carried as a fighter pilot with the D.C. Air National Guard that morning.

Faced with unprecedented uncertainty, no clear rules of engagement, and an unarmed aircraft, Sasseville and fellow pilot Heather Penney prepared to do whatever was necessary to protect the nation’s capital. His reflections on duty, leadership, sacrifice, and resilience offer a powerful reminder of the courage displayed by so many on 9/11, especially the heroes aboard Flight 93.

This conversation is more than a recounting of history. It is a testament to service, commitment, and the willingness to put others before self.

We remember their courage, their selflessness, and the families who carry their legacy forward. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to live in freedom today.

As we reflect, we also recommit ourselves to supporting living veterans, ensuring they receive the care, opportunity, and respect they deserve.

May is Military Spouse Appreciation Month, and SoldierStrong proudly recognizes the strength, resilience, and sacrifice of military spouses.

Behind every service member is a family serving too, adapting to deployments, relocations, and uncertainty with unwavering strength and support.

Military spouses are the backbone of our Armed Forces community, and their contributions often go unseen but never unfelt.

This month, we honor you and thank you for all you do. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, honor our fallen heroes and support living veterans. 🌺

SoldierStrong is partnering with the Memorial Day Flowers Foundation for the “Fundraising with Bouquets” campaign:

💐 $15 places a bouquet at Arlington National Cemetery
🇺🇸 $5 supports SoldierStrong programs, providing life-changing technology like robotic exoskeletons and VR therapy for veterans with PTSD

Since 2011, volunteers have placed flowers at gravesites, read each name, and reflected on the sacrifices of our nation’s service members. Now, you can join in, even from home.

A simple gesture this Memorial Day can remember the fallen and empower our veterans.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on the invisible wounds many of our nation's heroes carry long after the battle ends. 🧠

At SoldierStrong, we stand with our veterans and service members in their journey toward healing. Mental health is just as vital as physical health and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

This month and every month, we remain committed to providing advanced therapies and support systems that help our warriors reclaim their well-being, including the BraveMind virtual reality system used to treat post-9/11 veterans living with the devastating impacts of post-traumatic stress.

Since 2019, SoldierStrong has proudly donated 32 BraveMind systems to Veterans Affairs medical facilities across the nation in an effort to open up access to revolutionary mental health care for our nation’s heroes.
