In honor of Juneteenth, Harvard scholar Dr. Robert Livingston returns to the Ferguson Library to discuss his new book, Play the Game. Change the Game. Leave the Game: Pathways to Black Empowerment, Prosperity, and Joy.


In conversation with Michael Hyman, Dr. Livingston will explore how Black Americans can pursue prosperity, empowerment, and peace of mind despite the enduring realities of systemic racism.

Congratulations to Representative Matt Blumenthal on being recognized as Stamford’s recipient of the 2026 Connecticut Library Association Legislator of the Year Award.

Ferguson Library CEO Alice Knapp joined library leaders from across the state in celebrating Representative Blumenthal’s continued advocacy for libraries, literacy, and equitable access to information—including his leadership on fair eBook access legislation for Connecticut libraries.

We also extend our congratulations to this year’s fellow honorees: Representative Eleni Kavros DeGraw, Senator Bob Duff, Senate Majority Leader, State Senator Tony Hwang, and State Senator Ceci Maher.
