🎉 COMING UP — ANOTHER FREE SPAY & NEUTER DAY FOR PIT BULLS! 🎉

🗓️ MONDAY, OCTOBER 19

🐾 20 DOGS. 20 FREE SURGERIES.
(All appointments are filled.)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

❤️ MADE POSSIBLE BY AN ANONYMOUS DONOR

Twenty dogs will be spayed/neutered, thanks to one incredibly generous anonymous donor who is sponsoring this entire clinic.

This is an investment in prevention.

Every dog spayed or neutered means fewer accidental litters, fewer dogs entering already overcrowded shelters, and fewer dogs at risk of being abandoned, neglected and killed.

We are enormously grateful for this donor's generosity and commitment to helping us tackle the problem where it begins.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🐾 PREVENTION CHANGES THE FUTURE

Our shelters and rescues are overwhelmed. There are simply far more dogs being born than there are homes available for them.

We have to prevent the unwanted litters in the first place.

That is why spay/neuter matters.

That is how we reduce shelter intake.

That is how we reduce shelter killing.

That is how we save lives. ❤️

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🐶 EVERY DOG AT THIS CLINIC RECEIVES, COMPLETELY FREE:

🐾 Spay/neuter surgery
🐾 Rabies vaccine
🐾 DA2PP (distemper/parvo) vaccine
🐾 Microchip
🐾 Nail trim
🐾 Recovery cone
🐾 Trazodone — take-home calming medication
🐾 Meloxicam — take-home pain medication

🐾 177 PIT BULL-TYPE DOGS FIXED THIS YEAR — 100% FREE! 🐾

So far this year, Animals R Family has spayed or neutered 177 pit bull-type dogs. The majority are owned dogs, along with some dogs in Connecticut municipal shelters.

Every single surgery was provided 100% FREE to the owners and shelters.

And the impact goes far beyond 177 dogs.

By preventing litter after litter from ever being born, these surgeries save tens of thousands of lives for years to come.

🐶 Spay/neuter means fewer unwanted puppies.

🐶 Fewer dogs abandoned and dumped.

🐶 Fewer dogs neglected and abused.

🐶 Fewer dogs entering overcrowded shelters.

🐶 Fewer dogs being killed in shelters simply because there are not enough homes.

We cannot rescue our way out of the massive pet overpopulation crisis.

We cannot adopt our way out of it.

We have to go upstream and turn off the faucet.

We have to tackle the problem at its source. That means SPAY & NEUTER.

❤️ Please consider donating so we can fix more dogs and prevent more unwanted litters. Thank you!

🐾 ADOPT SAMSON — PROFESSIONAL RETIREE, AGE 14 🐾

Samson is a 14-year-old distinguished gentleman who has officially retired from most of life.

His current schedule is extremely demanding:

😴 Snoozing — full-time position
🌿 Pottering around the yard — no particular destination
☀️ Sunbathing on the deck — weather permitting
🍽️ Eating — his most important daily responsibility

Samson is sweet, affectionate, low-key, low-maintenance, and easygoing. He can live with all kinds of animals because, at 14, Samson simply does not have the energy for drama.

His dream home?
A soft bed.
A sunny spot.
A little yard to potter around in.
Regular meals served promptly.

If your idea of the perfect dog is an adorable senior gentleman whose wildest activity is relocating from the couch to the deck, Samson may be your guy.

❤️ Please share and help this very good old man find his retirement home.

WHY SPAY/NEUTER MATTERS

We will never end the pet overpopulation crisis if we only treat the symptoms.

Every day, puppies are born into a world where shelters are already overflowing and dogs are being abandoned, neglected, abused, and killed simply because there are not enough homes.

We cannot rescue our way out of this crisis.
We cannot adopt our way out of this crisis.
We must go upstream and turn off the faucet.

Spay/neuter prevents unwanted litters, reduces shelter intake and overcrowding, and reduces shelter killing.

Every dog will receive completely FREE:
🐶 Spay/neuter surgery
🐶 Rabies vaccine
🐶 DA2PP (distemper/parvo) vaccine
🐶 Microchip
🐶 Nail trim
🐶 Recovery cone
🐶 Trazodone — take-home calming medication
🐶 Meloxicam — take-home pain medication

🎉 Moose from Hartford Animal Control (in Hartford, CT) was adopted! 🎉

And before he headed off to his new family, we made sure he was all set for his fresh start.

At our "Free Spay & Neuter Day for Pit Bulls" this past Monday, August 24, Moose was neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped — completely FREE.

Now Moose will never contribute to the pet overpopulation crisis that is overwhelming shelters everywhere.

Spay/neuter prevents unwanted litters.
It reduces shelter intake.
It reduces shelter killing.
It saves lives.

And for Moose, it was the final step before heading HOME. ❤️🏡

Please consider donating to our GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-sponsor-free-spay-neuter-day-for-pit-bulls) so we can spay/neuter more pit bulls from Hartford Animal Control.
