He has fixated on the leash or handlerโ€™s hand and attempted to bite during one interaction. Treats have been effective in redirecting him, but he needs an experienced person who understands canine body language and can give him patience, structure, and space.

When he came into the shelter in ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ, he was in absolutely heartbreaking shape.. severely underweight, covered in fleas, suffering from mange and dermatitis, and dealing with an injured leg. He had clearly been failed by people who should have cared for him.๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข

After nearly ๐Ÿ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐“๐‹๐‚, he has gained a healthy weight, his hair has grown back, his skin has healed, and his personality has finally had a chance to shine.

He has been staying in a side office at the shelter because he is that good. He stays in a crate overnight and does amazing. They can even walk him off leash, and when they point toward his crate, he happily goes right in. โค๏ธ

This sweet boy came from a terrible situation, yet somehow he still loves people, dogs, cats and life. He is proof that dogs can come from horrible circumstances and still have so much love to give.

๐Ÿ’” And now, despite everything he has overcome, he is facing euthanasia.

He has an injured leg that is currently in a cast. The vet believes it is healing and expects the cast may be able to come off in about 2 weeks. The shelter is currently raising money to help get him to a rescue that can continue caring for him and make sure he gets whatever medical care he needs , including surgery if necessary.

Any money raised for his medical care will go directly toward the rescue helping him, even if he ends up not needing surgery. โค๏ธ

Sometimes the people who save the dogs are the ones who need someone to save them, too. โค๏ธ

This sweet girl, ๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž, was found as a stray with nowhere to go. A kind-hearted woman stepped up and took her in because she simply couldnโ€™t leave her without a safe place.

She didnโ€™t know what the future would hold. She just knew ๐Œ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ž ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐๐ž๐ ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ.

Look at the pictures of this sweet girl when she was found as a stray, compared to Millie now that she knows what it feels like to be safe, loved, fed, and cared for in a home.โค๏ธ

The difference isnโ€™t just physical, you can see it in her face. She went from a dog who had no idea where she would sleep or what would happen next to a girl who finally knows she is safe.๐Ÿพ

Someone gave Millie that chance.

Now, we want to make sure the financial burden of saving her doesnโ€™t fall entirely on the person who opened her heart and home to her.
