Meet Oasis Instructor Dan Reich!
With a career dedicated to art, history, and education, Dan Reich has spent decades helping St. Louisans explore the stories that shape our world.
Dan joined the Saint Louis Art Museum in 1986 and later served as Curator and Director of Education at the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. His connection to Oasis goes all the way back to his early days at the Art Museum, when he first began sharing his expertise with Oasis learners!
Now retired, Dan is back in the Oasis classroom, bringing his unique perspective on art and history to lifelong learners.
“They know their history, and they come to the table with a lifetime of experience,” Dan says of his Oasis students. “So, it’s always exciting when the students in my class tell me that they've never heard my material before, and I’m always really pleased to bring them new perspectives.”
Join Dan on October 27, as he explores how the N**i Party sought to control art and culture in 1930s Germany, confiscating collections and condemning modern art as “degenerate.” Explore the infamous Degenerate Art exhibition and the artists it targeted, including Max Beckmann, whose work is now on display at the Saint Louis Art Museum alongside other once-condemned masterpieces.
