Youth Arts Ambassadors - Springfield Arts Council The Springfield Arts Council's "YOUTH ARTS AMBASSADORS" are middle and high school students who have a big heart for the arts!

Youth Arts Ambassadors are the heartbeat of the next generation of arts appreciation and participation in Springfield! Teens from across Clark, Champaign and Madison County participate in performing arts workshops and special events, getting hands-on experience in everything the arts offers! If you are a Springfield or Clark County middle or high school student and want to join us, come be a part of the fun!

Disney’s Moana JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the 2016 Disney animated film, bringing the adventures of Moana and her village of Motunui to life onstage. Moana JR. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony®, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.”

This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.

The Springfield Arts Council's Youth Arts Ambassadors completed a weeklong theatre camp at the PAC by presenting "Shrek Kids" in the Turner Studio Theatre last Saturday afternoon. Thirty talented students worked all week in the PAC Community Rooms and Turner Studio to put the show together. 120 family and friends attended the performance. Jeremy Moeller, seen here, spearheaded the camp. Way to go everyone!
