Dear Supporters,

“Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” Proverbs 14:31.

On August 13, 2026, my husband, Dr. Edem Agamah and I (June Wood Agamah) celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We would like to thank all of you for the warm greetings and compliments we received.
Please join us as we also celebrate 30 years of God’s faithfulness in ministry. In April of 1996, our young family of five along with a faithfulness nurse, the late, Ms. Vivienne Dawkins, journeyed to Ghana. Armed with a few suitcases of medicines, food and baby formula for our youngest child. We had no clue what we were doing but we were obedient to the call. We found our purpose, days later, when over 500 people sat on benches under a mango tree to wait to be seen by the doctor.
We now have a major hospital which provides essential and elective services to 35,000 patients a year.
Therefore, it is essential that we celebrate all those who came alongside us for the past 30 years, since we formed the International Health and Development Network (IHDN). We thank you and celebrate those who stood with us as we opened the IHDN Mission Hospital, now EP Church Internation Mission Hospital, 18 years ago, on June 14, 2008.
We are also celebrating the current staff and others who joined later, for their sacrifices and faithfulness. Without your hard work and perseverance, thousands of lives would be lost. You continue to carry the mantle of being a blessing to the poor.
Our journey is not an easy one, the challenges are multiplied as we expand our services to include cancer care, clinical psychology and improved access to major surgeries. Despite these growing pains, God has blessed our work at Weta-Adzadokpo and we thank Him for using you as instruments of change.
We thank you for your generous support of the 13th Annual “Bringing the World Together” Fundraiser Banquet on June 5, 2026. We are excited to report that for the first time, we have reached 90% of our goal. We thank you once again for your sacrificial giving and encourage you to continue to support the growing work. Please join us and make the journey light as we stand in the gap for the poor.

Dear Supporters,
Thank you for your continued support of the IHDN ministry in the U.S and Ghana.
IHDN turned 18 years this June 2026. During our recent 13th Annual “Bringing the World Together “ Fundraiser Banquet held on Friday, June 5, 2026. We shared about the power of one and how partnership is the glue that holds our community together. We looked back with fondness at some of the milestones that we’ve covered and indeed, we’ve accomplished a great deal because of your consistent support. We would like to thank our volunteers, the contributors who attended the event as well as those who could not make it but prayed for the success of the program. We had over 250 attendees represented from all over the world.

IHDN hosted the 17th Continuing Professional Development (CPD) lecture on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, via Zoom. Over 200 participants from the U.S and Ghana were engaged in meaningful discussions and shared knowledge and experiences with the goal of providing excellence medical care to patients here and abroad.

Meanwhile, in Ghana, the hospital continues to make strides, often under difficult circumstances and delayed reimbursements from the government for patient care by the small but mighty number of staff of the hospital.
Dr. Henry Kpeli and other medical doctors continue to provide continued medical education and training for the staff on campus and via social media.
On Thursday, June 9, 2026, The E.P.Church International Mission Hospital biostatistics unit organized a fire hydrant demonstration and training session to equip some staff with essential fire safety knowledge and practical emergency response skills.

Ordinarily, at this time next Thursday, July 23rd, we will have been scheduled to undertake our 48th Mission trip to Ghana. Instead, we are planning a trip to Ghana in October during Breast Cancer Awareness month. This will allow a team of surgeons from the U.S and Ghana to work together to save lives.
Please keep our team of surgeons, residents and volunteer staff from accross the U.S and Springfield as we prepare for this trip.,We look forward to joining hands together to make a difference in the lives of many.

Wow! What a fantastic evening of celebration of the 30 years of service and the hospital is now 18 years. We’ll like to thank all the volunteers, staff at Hope Church, family and friends and supporters who joined us to give glory to God for his faithfulness. We are closer than ever to reaching our fundraising goal this year.
We shared about the power of one and how your influence matters. Your prayers matter. Sharing your gifts and talents in service to others is where lives are touched, bodies are healed and restored to health. Peoples’ lives are changed forever!We’ve made 47 mission trips to Ghana.
Over 500,000 patient encounters in 18 years is remarkable. So is over 4,700 babies delivered. Over 480 volunteers accompanied us to Ghana, including 65 US medical students and over 100 US doctors visited , taught and provided essential care to those patients.’We are beyond excited to see what the good Lord has in store for our upcoming mission trips to Ghana.

On Monday, April 27. 2026, I was invited to speak with students at the UIS Master in Public Health (MPH)
Program. I had a fabulous time presenting about Being a catalyst for change, with the MPH students at University of Illinois at Springfield during Professor Kathy Sgro evening class. Most of them are medical doctors, scientists and bioengineers from around the world. In essence, most are immigrants like myself.

I shared about my journey from Guyana, South America to the United States. I was part of the first MPH graduates from University of Illinois at Springfield, IL. My message focused on three things, 1) Influence 2) Perseverance and 3) How purpose is often revealed through hardship. The students had opportunity to share about their journey. I was in awe of the richness of their educational background and the resilience and determination they demonstrated throughout their journey. We all agreed that adversity can produce purpose. They were very impressed by the IHDN Ministry work we are doing in Ghana and are inspired to go back to their home countries to do something for their people.
I wish them all the best for a bright future is ahead of them!
