If you knew Richard, you knew he lived his life with one main mission…….pouring into the youth “Each one, teach one”. He had a heart for mentoring young men and especially young Black males. Always showing them what was possible, guiding them with grace, love and always pointing them to Christ.

He truly fought the good fight, finished his race and kept the faith. He was a faithful and true servant.

Thank you for everything you gave us. Rest in power. You will be missed my brother. Continue to keep his family and youth he mentored in your prayers.

We’re introducing SIS, Sisters Inspiring Sisters, a girl-led peer mentoring program within MADE Mentoring.

SIS creates a positive sister circle where girls can encourage one another, build confidence, practice leadership, and develop meaningful friendships. Having a place to feel heard and supported matters. We want every girl in SIS to discover her voice and see the possibilities ahead of her.

Innovation is only as powerful as the access we provide to it. Yesterday, The Outlet Academy had the privilege of bringing a group of students and mentors into the Engineering Summit at University of Illinois Springfield to connect directly with local leaders, educators and employers.

Our youth had the opportunity to hear about college programs, apprenticeships, and paths they may have never even known were options.

We owe a huge thank you to Talia McKaila Smith and Josh for opening this door and ensuring our students had a seat at the table. We look forward to collaborating on future STEM fairs, guest instruction, and industry tours to keep this going.

Just wanted to send a quick note to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been jumping onto the Amazon account lately to grab supplies for our youth.

Whether you picked up food items, kitchen gear, or cleaning supplies, you are helping us build our community here. We literally couldn't run this program without this kind of support.
