Just a quick heads-up that Ozarks Literacy Council will have limited office hours next week due to the Columbus Day holiday and our annual Spooky, Scary Stories Trivia Night!

If you've been dying to join us, now's your chance! We've extended registration through Tuesday, October 13, so there's still time to gather your smartest friends and get ready for a night of trivia, laughs and spooky fun at Pythian Castle.

👥 Teams of 6
$400/team or $80/individual

Don't have a full team? No problem! Individual players can sign up, and we'll place you with other individual sign-ups to make a team.

📚 Learners are waiting for reading tutors!

Right now, one or more learners are waiting for a volunteer reading tutor in these areas:

📍 Bolivar
📍 Branson or Hollister
📍 Gainesville, West Plains, or Ava
💻 Online

Behind every one of these locations is a learner who is ready to build their reading skills, gain confidence, and reach their goals. They just need someone willing to spend one hour a week helping them learn how to read.

You don’t need a teaching degree or previous teaching experience to become an OLC reading tutor. We’ll provide the training and resources you need to make a difference.

Friday, 9/25, is Dolly Parton Day!

Dolly believed every child deserves books and someone to share them with. Her Imagination Library put hundreds of millions of books into little hands, and her example is a big part of why so many people care about literacy today. As Dolly once said, “You can never get enough books into the hands of young children".

So many of you have asked how you can support Ozarks Literacy Council in her honor. We're truly touched that you want to honor her legacy close to home.🦋📚

🎉👏 Join us in congratulating Saylor on reaching her goal of reading at her current grade level!

When Saylor first began the Ozarks Literacy Council’s One-to-One Reading Tutoring Program, she told her tutor, Dean, “I need help knowing more words.”

Dean has been by her side since the very beginning, and together they’ve worked through 102 tutoring sessions to help Saylor build her reading skills and confidence.

Now, Saylor is ready to take that newfound confidence and tackle reading on her own! 📚💙

We are so proud of all the hard work and determination she has shown along the way. Congratulations, Saylor! We can’t wait to see where your reading journey takes you next. 🌟
