It's graduation time! πŸŽ‰πŸ˜

Aria has reached her reading goals with OLC. Though we hate to see her go, we're so proud of the effort and accomplishments she made in the program.

A special thank you to Julie, her tutor pictured here, whose dedication helped Aria achieve her goals!

Congrats, Aria!

Every learner’s success starts with someone willing to help. Get involved with OLC and support literacy in our community: https://ozarksliteracy.org/volunteer-tutor/

A huge thank you to Pawn & Jewelry for sponsoring Links fore Literacy at the Page Level! β›³πŸ“š

For years, Eagle Pawn & Jewelry has helped our community with short-term collateral loans and a wide variety of merchandise including jewelry, coins, electronics, musical instruments, tools, video games, and so much more. They also offer ring sizing and layaway on select items.

We’re grateful for local businesses like Eagle Pawn & Jewelry that help support literacy programs and create brighter futures for learners in our community. Thank you for helping us drive literacy forward! πŸ’š

We love our end-of-year wrap-up for the Reading Resource Program! πŸ“šβœ¨

We recently held our end-of-year book fairs at York Elementary Page, McGregor Elementary School, and Williams Elementary, where more than 800 students were able to choose two free books each to take home and add to their personal libraries. From excited smiles to stacks of books in little hands, these events were full of pure book joy!

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteer readers who helped make these book fairs so special:
πŸ’™ Paula Montgomery
πŸ’™ Steva Carter
πŸ’™ Ken Sprenger
πŸ’™ Deb Kukal
πŸ’™ Dr. Katy Knapp
πŸ’™ Beth Cramer
πŸ’™ Bob Rich
πŸ’™ Abby O’Quinn
πŸ’™ Becky Seigel

We also want to recognize Program Assistant Rebecca Dula and Intern Noel Davis, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to source, organize, and gather enough books for every student we serve across these three schools. Their hard work helped make this event possible!

And thank you to staff members Lori Beeson, Gemma Blackburn, and Cassie Witt for taking time out of their schedules to attend, help students pick out books, and celebrate the close of another amazing school year of reading literacy. πŸ“–

Seeing students light up while choosing books of their own is exactly why we do what we do. Thank you to everyone who helped make these book fairs such a success!

On Saturday, we welcomed and trained 4 new volunteer reading tutors who will soon be matched with learners currently on our waiting list. Every new tutor means more children and adults getting the support they need to build confidence and strengthen their reading skills.
A huge thank you to these volunteers for stepping up to invest their time, encouragement, and heart into our community. πŸ’™

Want to make an impact this summer and help us cut our waiting list down even more? β˜€οΈ

Become a volunteer reading tutor! You don't need to have prior teaching or tutoring experience, just a desire to help someone grow and the ability to spend 1 hour per week with a learner. Summer is a great time to get started, and we’ll provide the training and support you need along the way.
