Scouting America is excited to announce the release of two new merit badges for 2026 at the National Jamboree, Wildland Fire Management and Competitive Gaming!

With Wildland Fire Management, Scouts will have hands-on experience with wildfire experts through interactive activities and demonstrations covering wildfire behavior, fire ecology, prevention, emergency preparedness, firefighting careers, and more.

Developed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Department of the Interior, and the Society of American Foresters, this merit badge offers meaningful outdoor learning, practical life skills, and a unique opportunity your Scouts won't find anywhere else.

See the requirements here:

The Competitive Gaming merit badge introduces Scouts to one of the fastest-growing industries in the world—esports and modern gaming—while reinforcing the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law in digital spaces. This badge blends fun, education, personal growth, and real-world career exploration, empowering Scouts to become responsible digital citizens and informed participants in today’s gaming culture.

Whether you're a casual gamer or a future esports competitor, this merit badge offers a fun way to build skills that extend far beyond the game.

Summer Camp 2026... COMPLETE!

Thousands of Scouts.
Hundreds of leaders.
Countless adventures.
Lifelong friendships.
Memories that will never fade.

This summer, Camp Arrowhead was filled with laughter, campfires, merit badges, waterfront fun, shooting sports, new adventures, incredible food, and moments reminding us of why Scouting changes lives.

To every Scout, parent, volunteer, and leader, THANK YOU for making Camp Arrowhead the place to be this summer.

A standing ovation goes to our incredible camp leadership team:
Bill Marr, Camp Director
Mark Peterman, Program Director
Suzi Kidd, Staff Advisor
Chris Legg, Camp Ranger
..and to every member of our outstanding Camp Staff.

You didn't just run a camp.
You created memories.
You inspired future leaders.
You changed lives.

The tents are packed up, program gear is stowed away, the flags are lowered and everyone is now home, but don't get too comfortable. Only 331 days until we do it all over again!

Summer at Camp Arrowhead will return June 6, 2027, book your spot today!

Until then...

Keep serving.
Keep leading.
Keep Scouting!

We'll save your spot around the campfire. See you at Camp Arrowhead in 2027! Thanks to Angela Stanley for this amazing photo.
