Children with healthy bodies and minds are a gift from God to the world. They grow, dream, reach for, believe in, and achieve better things; but not every child is healthy.

Sometimes the circumstances are beyond anyone’s control, such as ill health caused by disease or accidents. Too often, hunger makes learning difficult and drastically reduces a child’s opportunities, quality of life, and even lifespan. Other children are unhealthy because of unhealed mental trauma. Family violence, exploitation, and grinding poverty steal a child’s vitality and joy—even their desire to live.

Treasure House Christian Children’s Home (Fiji) is an orphanage that cares for babies, children, teens, and young adults who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned or who require care for other reasons. Treasure House is the only home of its kind in Nadi that cares for special-­needs children.

Their goals are:
🎂 Allow children the blessing of celebrating their birthdays.
⚽️ Create opportunities for children to participate in recreational and educational outings that broaden their horizons outside their usual places of living, playing, and learning.
🚗 Transport children to school and church
🍎 Provide nutritional meals.

Target for 2026: $13,200 — Breakdown:

• $600 per month for basic needs of the home
• $300 per month for educational support
• $200 per month to assist with special-­needs therapy

The most heartbreaking task for the staff is having to turn away needy children because there are no more funds or space to help them. Together, we can help keep the doors wide open.

Shelter is one of our most basic human needs. But children need more than a house that keeps them safe from the elements—they need a home that keeps their hearts safe from the world. A strong, loving home that shelters the body while nurturing the soul is key to a child’s survival and healthy development.

ALO helps provide a loving and nurturing home for 435 children at nine homes in seven countries across Asia Pacific. This year, we are committed to raising $160,000 to Homes projects for children—more than the $91,900 target we met in 2025.

The Sunday School in My Language project is equipping local churches across Asia Pacific with Bible lessons, songs, and teaching resources in children's own heart languages. As local leaders are trained and encouraged, they're reaching the next generation with the hope of the gospel in ways that are meaningful, memorable, and culturally relevant.
