GYNCA Mission: GYN Cancers Alliance provides education, resources, and support to local women and their families affected by gynecologic cancers. GYNCA Services: GYNCA provides four key components inherent to the support and assistance of gynecologic cancer fighters & survivors; financial assistance, education, community, and resources. Our organization brings all gynecologic cancer patients toget
her, including their caregivers and families. Fueled by Hope:
- Removing barriers to treatment
- GYNCA provides up to $5,400 a month in fuel assistance to women in active treatment for gynecologic cancers
- GYNCA serves 30 counties in SW Missouri; many of our members live in rural areas, and travel hours daily for their treatment
- Our service area continues to increase as more needs are identified in more rural areas
Case Management & Advocacy:
- Regular follow-up contact with GYNCA members
- Ongoing research for other resources by county, and making educated referrals to help support our families throughout their cancer journey
Emergency Financial Assistance:
- Each member has access to up to $500 in emergency assistance for the duration of their treatment journey.
- Example of emergency assistance: car repairs, utilities, rent, etc. Building Connection & Community:
- Monthly Support Group Meetings in Springfield
- Quarterly Support Group Meetings in Joplin (pending)
Wig Assistance:
- A one-on-one wig consultation, free wig, wig stand, supplies and care instructions.
- Supplies such as scarves, hats, beanies, chemo caps, and more.
- We strive to make these wig fittings very personal and meaningful.
- Hair loss during cancer treatment is a traumatic process, and we try to make that process a little less tragic for our ladies.
- Often times, after diagnosis, the first questions our medical teams hear is, "will I lose my hair?"
