Last week, members of the Second Harvest Food Bank team traveled to Chicago to attend the Feeding America 2026 Neighbor Access & Experience Institute. Throughout the conference, our team learned new strategies and ideas focused on improving equitable access to food assistance and creating more inclusive experiences for our neighbors.

We’re excited to bring these ideas back to the communities we serve as we continue working alongside our partners to fight hunger with compassion and innovation. 🥦💛

🌟Lunches in the Park with Lutheran Community Services

The Need: Help serve daily bagged lunches meals to anyone who

When: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Starts June 1st)

🌟 Food Distribution with Second Harvest Food Bank of Clark, Champaign & Logan Counties

The Need: Assist with distributing food to local families. This is a quick, high-impact, one-hour commitment.

When: Second Tuesday of the month

Where: Richland Township Park, Belle Center

🌟 Pineapple Palooza with Downtown Days Bellefontaine

The Need: Support Bellefontaine's signature summer event! Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of roles including the Dunk Tank if you're up for that😎

When: Saturday, June 6th (Event runs 2:00 PM–Midnight)

✨ Partner Pantry Spotlight: St. Vincent de Paul – Springfield ✨

📍 Location: 228 Raffensperger Rd., Springfield, OH
🕒 Hours: Open weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM
📞 To schedule an appointment, call (937) 325-8880

When you arrive for your appointment, the front desk receptionist will buzz you into the building. Let them know you are there for the food pantry, and you will be directed to the pantry check-in desk.

After checking in, you can take a seat at the waiting table until a volunteer calls your name. Your volunteer will provide a cart and guide you through the pantry, helping you select food items for your household.

Food is distributed based on family size, and you’ll have the opportunity to choose from a variety of available items. Volunteers will assist with bagging your groceries as you shop.

In addition to food, hygiene products are often available to help meet other essential household needs.

We are grateful for partners like Society of St. Vincent de Paul, who serve our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and care. 💙

Second Harvest Food Bank will be at Logan County Senior Day & Resource Fair on Thursday, May 28 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Bellefontaine Grace Church (2220 S. Main St., Bellefontaine).

Enjoy a delicious catered lunch, live entertainment, and connect with local resource providers—including our team! We’ll be there sharing information about food assistance and how we can support you or your loved ones.

We had a wonderful time at yesterday’s mobile food distribution at the St. Paris Food Pantry! ☀️

Their dedicated team of volunteers works hard each month to ensure the distribution runs smoothly and that local families receive the support they need.

If you are interested in attending, the St. Paris Food Pantry hosts a mobile distribution on the third Monday of every month.
