As we continue counting down to our 5th Anniversary Celebration of Feeding the Soul: Igniting the Spirit, we are excited to introduce another special part of this year's celebration!

This group is more than a collection of talented voices. They believe they were brought together through a prophetic word that answered a prayer. God ordained them to be a diverse group called to minister through singing and testimonial-style worship.

While each member is blessed to lead individually, there is something special that happens when they come together. Their purpose is simple yet powerful:

To worship. To minister. To harmonize. And ultimately, to lead souls to Christ for the Kingdom of God. 🙌🏽🎶

Their prayer and hope is that through their ministry, others will experience God's presence and discover His:

✨ Passion
✨ Power
✨ Peace that surpasses all understanding

Their favorite scripture says it best:

“Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.” — Psalm 100:2 🎵🙏🏽

✨ PRAISE DANCER SPOTLIGHT: ANIYAH ✨

As we prepare to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Feeding the Soul: Igniting the Spirit, we are so excited to spotlight another beautiful part of our celebration! 💜

Please help us welcome Aniyah, who will bless us through the ministry of Praise Dance. 🙌🏽✨

For Aniyah, praise dance is much more than movement—it is an intimate form of worship.

She shares:

“Praise dance is a very intimate form of worship for me. It gives me a way to connect with God and express things that I sometimes can’t put into words.”

When she dances, Aniyah says she feels she can completely surrender and be vulnerable with God. It is not about how the dance looks, but about what she is giving to God through her worship. 💜

Praise dance also provides a space for her to release the things she may be carrying emotionally—and she loves knowing that God can use her worship to touch someone else.

And isn't that what ministry is all about? 🙌🏽

Using what God has placed within us, not simply for ourselves, but allowing Him to use it to minister to others.

Her favorite scripture, Deuteronomy 31:8, reminds us that the Lord goes before us and will never leave nor forsake us. ✨

Aniyah will bring her gift of worship to our Looking Back, Looking Forward celebration, and we cannot wait to experience what God will do through her ministry.

Because sometimes words are not enough...

Sometimes, you have to worship Him with everything within you. 💃🏽🙌🏽💜

✨ CATERER SPOTLIGHT: MINISTER CHRISTINE “MAMA C” DAVIS ✨

Let me tell you something! 😂 I have been trying to get Minister Christine Davis to cater Feeding the Soul: Igniting the Spirit since our very first event, and after five years… WE FINALLY GOT HER! 🙌🏽🎉💜

And I couldn't be happier!

Her food is made with love, but what makes this even more special is that her heart posture is one of service. For Minister Christine, cooking isn't simply about preparing a meal—it’s one of the ways she shows love.

When asked why she loves to cook, she shared:

"Growing up, we always had family dinners, and I remember the laughter that filtered throughout the house. So seeing people eat and enjoy my food makes me happy and is my way of showing my love." ❤️

And apparently, this love language is VERY well known in her family! 😂 Her children and their friends affectionately call her “Mama C” and even bought her a sign for her kitchen that says “Mama C’s Kitchen” because… well, she's always cooking! 👩🏽‍🍳😂

Her children, family, and friends still come home for family dinners at least twice a month—and I can only imagine the food and fellowship happening around that table!

So when you join us for our 5th Anniversary celebration, you're not just getting dinner.

You're getting a meal prepared by someone who believes food is an expression of love. 💜

And after waiting FIVE YEARS to make this happen, trust me… I am ready to eat! 😂🙌🏽

Our theme is **LOOKING BACK, LOOKING FORWARD.**

We’re taking a moment to celebrate the work Breaking Free To Be has accomplished since our founding, but we’re also pulling back the curtain on **what’s NEXT!** 👀

Our Community Coordinators will share what has been happening within each of our pillars—and give you a glimpse of the **new trainings, new partnerships, new programs, and new possibilities** on the horizon. ✨

The work we do isn't always easy. Some of the conversations we have are difficult. Some of the issues we discuss are concerning. And sometimes, the things we hear remind us just how much work there is still to do.

But we keep showing up.

Because making our community more trauma-informed, educated, connected, and empowered is necessary work.

BUT… 👀

We also believe that the people doing the work deserve to **celebrate the work!** 🎉

🌎💜 TRAUMA IS MORE COMMON THAN WE THINK.

When we hear the word trauma, many of us immediately think about a catastrophic event.

But trauma can result from many different experiences—and its impact isn't always visible.

According to the World Health Organization, approximately 70% of people globally will experience a potentially traumatic event during their lifetime.

And here in the United States, research has found that trauma exposure is also widespread. About 62% of U.S. adolescents reported experiencing at least one potentially traumatic event in a national study.

Think about that for a moment.

Trauma may be sitting beside us at work.
It may be in our classrooms.
It may be in our churches.
It may be in our healthcare systems.
It may be in the person sitting across from us asking for help.

And sometimes, we may never know.

That's why trauma-informed care matters.

Being trauma-informed doesn't mean assuming everyone has experienced trauma. It means recognizing that trauma is common, understanding that it can affect people in very different ways, and responding in ways that promote safety, dignity, trust, and compassion.

💜 Trauma isn't always visible. Understanding begins with awareness.

Did You Know?

Nationwide, 81% of women and 43% of men report experiencing some form of sexual harassment and/or sexual assault during their lifetime.

Think about that for a moment.

These are not just statistics.
They represent our family members.
Our friends.
Our coworkers.
Our neighbors.
Our church members.
Our students.
Our clients.

Many survivors never tell anyone what happened. Instead, they carry the emotional, psychological, and physical impact of trauma in silence—often while continuing to show up for work, care for their families, and navigate everyday life.

As helping professionals, leaders, educators, healthcare providers, clergy, advocates, and community members, we have an opportunity to create environments where survivors are met with compassion, dignity, and understanding.

That is why this training matters.
