☀️ Summer reading doesn’t have to feel like homework!

For students with dyslexia, learning happens best when it’s fun, engaging, and low-pressure. 📚✨ Try these simple summer activities to build reading skills while making memories:

🎲 Word games like Boggle or Scrabble Junior
🎧 Audiobooks paired with printed books
🍿 Turn on captions during movies and TV shows
📝 Read recipes, menus, road signs, or comic books together
📖 Let kids choose books based on their interests — confidence matters!

🌴 Keep learning playful this summer and help your child stay confident heading into the new school year!

📚 “She’s smart… so why is reading so hard?”

1 in 5 people have dyslexia — yet millions go undiagnosed and unsupported. Dyslexia is NOT a sign of low intelligence. It’s a different way the brain processes language.

Behind every struggling reader is often a child battling:
💔 Frustration
💔 Anxiety
💔 Low self-esteem
💔 Feeling “less than” in a classroom not built for them

But with early identification and the right support, dyslexic students can thrive, succeed, and shine in incredible ways. 🌟

Every child deserves to feel confident when they learn to read.
Let’s replace misunderstanding with awareness — and struggle with support. ❤️

👉 Share this post to spread dyslexia awareness and help more families recognize the signs early.

Today we remember the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we have today. ❤️🤍💙

☀️ Check "get answers" off your summer bucket list.

If your child struggled with reading this school year, don’t wait until fall to “see if it gets better.” Early dyslexia testing can uncover the WHY behind the struggle — and open the door to the right support. 📚✨

Did you know?
🔹 1 in 5 students shows signs of dyslexia
🔹 Early identification can dramatically improve reading outcomes
🔹 Waiting often increases frustration, anxiety, and loss of confidence

Summer offers a low-stress opportunity for evaluation before a new school year begins. Imagine starting school with a plan, support, and renewed confidence instead of fear and frustration. ❤️

Your child is NOT lazy.
Your child is NOT “behind.”
Your child may simply learn differently — and that’s okay. 🌟

🌴 Use your summer wisely. Invest in understanding your child’s learning needs today so they can thrive tomorrow.

🌟 Student Success Story 🌟

Hard work truly pays off! We’re so proud of Gus for his incredible progress this school year. 📚👏

Gus’s reading i-Ready score increased by 52 points this year, and after just 6 months of tutoring at SCDL, his scores are on grade-level!

His dedication, perseverance, and positive attitude made all the difference. We’re honored to be part of his journey and can’t wait to see all the amazing things he accomplishes next.

Way to go, Gus! 🎉💙

Imagine trying your hardest every single day… and still feeling behind.

Many children with dyslexia grow up believing they aren’t smart — when in reality, they simply learn differently.

With the right support, struggling readers become confident learners.

Reading challenges do not define a child’s future. At Springfield Center for Dyslexia & Learning, we’re passionate about helping students succeed one step at a time.
