From Crystal Knapp (Editor in Chief) "I recently heard from Veronica H., one of our networking directors. Her nonprofit provides women with five days’ worth of work clothes, from underwear to coats, and Reach UP is always included in their bags of blessing.As Veronica prepared for an upcoming weeklong event, she asked whether we had enough back issues to share.

The magazines will reach not only the women attending, but also the case managers and peer support workers who serve them. Veronica has found that volunteers and case managers don’t always see the full scope of the women’s needs. Caring Friends;
Many of the 21 million women in our country living at or below the level of poverty are held there by three traps: Hopelessness, Low Self-esteem and Weak Aspirations. Reach Up Magazine (a 501c3) began in 2007 to be an aide by providing relevant information, encouragement and empowerment in printed and digital form for this underserved segment of our society. These 8-page periodicals are offered at no charge to any agency or mission that is working directly with marginalized women at all levels as a “come-along-side” support voice in the lives of women who are financially challenged.
The need is huge and the results are life changing.
Currently there are over 230 agencies nationwide that are handing out over 15,000 copies quarterly. There are hundreds of locations that still have not heard of this valuable resource in the quest of support for women who are in a place in their life to REACH UP for help.
Reach Up Magazine Inc. is currently looking for the following referrals:
1. Locations around the country where the magazines can be used as a support for the program already in place.
2. Contact with funding sources such as foundations, business charity accounts and philanthropists
3. Talented writers who understand the plight and needs of marginalized women to help with relevant articles for future issue.
4. Localized individuals to be Ambassadors/volunteers in getting the word out about the services of Reach Up Magazine and help with distribution.
