Help Us Create a Lasting Tribute at Anderson Creek! 🎖️✨

The Anderson Creek Garden Club is honored to announce a special project: we are raising funds to place a Gold Star Memorial right here in our community at the corner of NC Highway 87 and Nursery Road.

This memorial will serve as a permanent, heartfelt tribute to the families who have given everything for our country. We are incredibly grateful to partner with Fort Bragg, who will be receiving and installing this landmark on our behalf.

We need your help to reach our $3,400 goal!
Our club members have already kicked things off with an initial $500 donation, but we need the community’s support to bring this vision to life.

Every single dollar brings us one step closer to this lasting legacy. Once the memorial is placed, we will host a formal ceremony to honor those it represents, and everyone who helps us reach this goal will be invited to join us for this historic occasion.

Any questions? 🧐 There's a reason we are proud North Carolinians! 💪

- Agriculture and agribusiness generate over $102 billion a year and support roughly 950,000 jobs statewide (more than any other sector in NC). 💵
- Your food begins its life as a seed, an egg, or in the wombs of livestock. Farmers care for an nurture these crops and animals throughout their life cycle, ultimately resulting in the food on your plate. Food begins with a farmer. 👨‍🌾
- Dairy, beef, pork, and poultry from NC farms provide protein, calcium, riboflavin, and B vitamins. Coastal seafood and plants such as soybeans and peanuts also provide protein. Grains like corn and wheat supply us with fiber and carbohydrates. Sweet potatoes, berries, leafy greens, tomatoes, and other fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamins A, C, K, and folate. Local produce travels a shorter distance, allowing more vitamins and antioxidants to arrive on your plate after harvest at peak ripeness. 🍎 Only Iodine and Vitamin D are noted as being low in NC foods due to soil composition and other factors. North Carolina's fruits, vegetables, and meat products can nourish your whole body.
- NC has roughly 42,000 farms and over half of these sit on fewer than 50 acres. Family and individual operations make up 83.5% of all farms in our state. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
