Honoring a woman who made sure nobody went without a meal.

September 5th is Maggie L. Jackson's birthday. Her kitchen was always a sanctuary where nobody went without a meal. To honor her legacy, Spring Lake Family Support Services is launching a community food drive today through September 8th.

Our goal is simple: collect 95 cans, 95 boxes, $95, or 95 meals.

Most needed items:

• Canned vegetables and meat
• Pasta, pasta sauce, rice, and beans
• Cereal, oatmeal, and breakfast items
• Mac and cheese, soup, and crackers
• Shelf-stable milk

Drop-off donations at 126 N 1st Street, Spring Lake, NC 28390.

On Wednesday, September 9th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we will serve hot meals and award gift cards to 10 local families during our regular pantry hours.

Spring Lake Family Support Services operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Tax ID 83-4002330, and all contributions are tax deductible.

Spring Lake Family Support Services is grateful for the generosity of First Impressions Academy of Fayetteville. Last week they contacted us to share that their First Impressions Academy Food Drive held May 25 to May 29, 2026 had collected canned goods and hygiene essentials for families in need. On June 1, 2026 students from the Beta Club National Honor Society arrived to deliver the donation. Atticus Smith, Alyson Wizccak, Akari Bando, and Lailana Breg represented their school with kindness and leadership. Their commitment to serving others reflects the strength of our community and the impact young people can make when they choose to give back.
