Come see our students at our PACCM Paaralang Pilipino Palengke during Kalayaan! Our students worked all year at their entrepreneurship classes to create their very own business! Taught by Agnes and Michal Filipowski, owners of the students created a business plan and made products to sell at Kalayaan!

We kicked of reading month hosting a lot of guests and activities!

📚Maraming salamat to author, Janelle of for reading “Pamilia & Pancit” to our students and leading a workshop class for our Batibot students ❤️

📚 Maraming salamat to Jeff Jenks from Kilwanis for talking to us all about the great things Kilwanis does for communities around the world. We also enjoyed the book you read about kindness, which was very fitting for Kapwa.❤️

📚Maraming Salamat to for being our ate and kuya for the day, assisting in classes and helping us clean out part of our cafeteria!

Paaralang Pilipino is also hosting a book drive this month! We will be collecting new and gently used books for schools in the Philippines. They will be sent by balikbayan boxes sponsored by Dr. Ernie Mac.

Paaralang Pilipino had a great time making toys for the animals at Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control animal shelter this past Sunday!

This past Sunday, PACCM Paaralang Pilipino hosted their first Lunar New Year celebration! Lunar New Year is a joyous and meaningful celebration in the Philippines. It started long ago when Chinese traders came to the islands and shared their traditions. Over time, these traditions became part of Filipino culture too! Today, places like Manila light up with dragon dances, fireworks, and lots of yummy food. It’s a time for family, good luck, and celebrating the country’s colorful mix of cultures.

We’d like to thank all the volunteers and sponsors who made this event possible. Maraming salamat to PACCM board and President Rebecca Tungol and Director Tony Ko for opening up PACCM for us, for the volunteers who came early to set up and to the families who brought in the delicious food to share.

Paaralang Pilipino honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through service. ❤️ This past Sunday, our community came together to make blankets for Samaritus Family Center, supporting our local neighbors experiencing homelessness. Service, compassion, and Kapwa in action.
