The Tavern @ FTC 1338 Route 28, South Yarmouth is a cozy, alcohol-free dining space open to anyone seeking a meaningful, substance-free night out. Guests can enjoy a rotating 4-course Prix Fixe dinner for $40, paired with handcrafted mocktails with 50% of all profits supporting the mission of Family Table Collaborative to help feed our Cape Cod neighbors in need.

I work for the Federal Government as a Steward onboard research vessels for NOAA. That allows me to go to these places and do these things with my family. When they say get to work, I have to get to work. And that day, unfortunately, is this coming Sunday. As a result this will be the last weekend of the Tavern@FTC until the late fall when I finish my work season. It is unexpected but we will be back. So I am going to ask a favor. Help us finish up with a nice busy Friday and Saturday. Tomahawk Pork Chop & Monkfish Cheeks from Chatham Harvesters. It's going to be amazing and I'd love to see you there!

I'm a tree hugging hippie. There's lots of reasons for that but one of them is that I grew up finacially poor. I received Thanksgiving dinners from the local church, free breakfast (at a time when that was shameful) and grew up on Salmon Peawiggle (IYKYK). As a result I have gravitated towards making sure that people get fed. Thus, the Tavern@FTC. I get to be creative and work hours I like and raise money to support the Family Table Collaborative. We've got an excellent menu, Cape Cod Tech students learning the trade and volunteers all working to bring you a fabulous experience and move the mission of Family Table Collaborative forward. Please consider dining with us on Friday or Saturday night from 5pm to 9pm and support our mission. Comfy, Cozy and alchohol free!

Cape Cod has a strong fishing community and it frustrates me that in almost every store that the average Cape Codder shops at there is no local seafood. We were once the most prodigous fishing community in the world and while that may not be the case any longer we have generational fishing families still hard at work. They have become conservators of their bounty and we are super proud and happy to work with Chatham Harvesters and we recommend you do to!
This week we will be serving Seared Monkfish Cheeks with Prosciutto in a Lemon Basil Cream Pan Sauce.
Scallop like in taste but with a meatier texture I'll think you'll find these fabulous!
As always the bonus of our Prixe Fix is that you are supporting the larger community and the Chatham Harvesters!

Dole & Bailey Donates $90,000 in Food to Family Table Collaborative to Help Feed Cape Cod

Yarmouth, MA — March 2026 — The Family Table Collaborative (FTC) has received a donation of $90,000 worth of food from Dole & Bailey, the Woburn-based premium meat and seafood company, helping the organization continue providing nutritious meals across Cape Cod.

The donation includes 11 pallets of food, mostly protein. It will be transported from Woburn to Yarmouth with the help of Midnight Our Seafood, a Chatham-based seafood company, which is sending a truck to make this gift possible.

“Whenever Jeni Wheeler and the Family Table Collaborative call, I do whatever I can to help them out,” said Jesse Rose, owner of Midnight Our. “They provide good, wholesome meals to the people in need in our community.”

Dole & Bailey is led by Owner and CEO Nancy Matheson-Burns, who shares a culinary connection with Jeni Wheeler, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Family Table Collaborative, as a fellow member of the New England chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier.

“We were absolutely thrilled to donate $90,000 worth of food to Family Table Collaborative because we believe incredible ingredients should never go to waste, especially when they can nourish and uplift a community,” said Nancy Matheson-Burns, “As foodservice distributors, we all have products in our inventory—broken cases, specialty items, and unique ingredients—that may no longer fit our logistics but still have tremendous value.

“What excites me most is knowing organizations like Family Table have the creativity, skill, and heart to transform those ingredients into amazing meals that bless people in their communities! It’s a win for everyone.

“My hope is that this inspires others in the foodservice distribution world to take a fresh look at their own inventory and realize the opportunity sitting right there on the shelf. With just a little intention, we can turn surplus food into something powerful—supporting chefs, strengthening communities, and making sure great food reaches the people who need it most.”

The donation comes shortly after the Family Table Collaborative served as part of Barnstable County’s emergency response during the Blizzard of 2026. In partnership with World Central Kitchen, FTC prepared and distributed 15,000 meals from its kitchen across Cape Cod between Sunday and Friday during the storm response.

“This donation will help us continue preparing and distributing nutritious meals across Cape Cod for the next three months,” said Jeni Wheeler, Co-Founder of the Family Table Collaborative. “The United States represents about 5% of the world’s population but generates more than 25% of the world’s food waste. Much of what we call waste is actually surplus. Donations like this show how high-quality food can be redirected to nourish communities rather than becoming trash.”

Wheeler holds an MBA from Babson College with a focus in Social Entrepreneurship, was named to the World Central Kitchen Chef Corps in 2024, and serves on a working group for Governor Maura Healey’s Anti-Hunger Task Force.

Founded six years ago, the Family Table Collaborative works to increase nutritional security across all 15 towns on Cape Cod. The organization has prepared and distributed more than 250,000 meals, rescued over 125,000 pounds of fresh produce, and prevented nearly 500,000 pounds of food from becoming waste.

I'm taking a day off today but tomorrow I'll be in prepping for this weekends amazing menu. A couple of things: 1) I've taken off the Pub Grub. We hardly sold any at all and it is an added prep load that we can do without. 2) The Comforting Concoctions will no longer be included with the Prixe Fix. This was arrived at after much discussion and agreed upon by all in house.

We will have Rice Pilaf as a side option and Mixed Roasted Vegetables are going to be the Veg of the day. We might run out of spinach, if that happens then super greens will be substituted.

Thanks To:
Dole & Bailey Inc
Whole Foods Market
Family Table Collaborative
and
Buckets of Volunteers for making this possible!
