Phyllis Sears had a storied life. It spanned continents and oceans—from Liverpool, England, to Lima, Peru, to her backyard in East Dennis, where she hosted cocktail parties “under the tree” for her family and friends.

Learn how she turned her passion for animals and the environment into a legacy by creating a Legacy Fund with The Cape Cod Foundation that will impact Cape Cod now and for generations to come.

Since 2025, we have awarded $300,000 in Land Acquisition Grants from this fund, helping to preserve 77 acres of conservation land across Cape Cod
