The Manna System
While attending service at a newly built church, we noticed all the windows frames were empty, with no glass in them. The pastor explained that funds had run out, so they had to leave the openings empty for now. Though the building was unfinished, Sunday services and ministries never stopped. As the music started, the congregation poured their hearts into worship, coming before the Lord with pure hunger.
In developed nations, we are used to budgeting, risk management, and waiting until everything is perfect before we start. But here, they operate on the “Manna System”—you do what you can with what you have; offer your five loaves and two fish in faith, and trust that the Lord will multiply it. In an environment prone to natural disasters where plans constantly change, this might actually be the most practical approach. It really made us reflect: Are we always waiting for the perfect moment to move? The truth is, even when we are imperfect, God can still use our “not enough” to bless others.
After days of learning on the mission field, our hearts are reignited. Seeing local workers live out “Worship in Action” with a clear mission is beautiful. It’s an outpouring of love in response to God's call, backed by consistent mentorship, leadership training, and steadfast prayer.
