Three incredible chefs, a fusion of flavors, Japanese wh**ky pairings, and a room filled with love and laughter! ❤️

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting a very special three-chef fusion dinner paired with a Japanese wh**ky tasting at Moonstar Kitchen, celebrating Sky & Kristin's upcoming wedding! 💍

This unforgettable evening was made possible through an incredible collaboration between Chef Ajay and Reena of Amara Restaurants, Chef Martin Yan and the Yan Can Cook team, and our very own Moonstar team! Bringing together different culinary backgrounds, creativity, and passion for food, each team contributed their talents to create a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience.

From the behind-the-scenes kitchen magic to each beautifully crafted dish, it was amazing to see everyone come together to make this evening so special. A heartfelt thank you to all of our chefs and teams for sharing your time, talent, and passion. We couldn't have done it without you! ❤️

Even more special, this exclusive dining experience was auctioned at our Stardust Gala this past June, helping support Moonstar Charitable Organization's mission of nourishing our communities, one meal at a time.

🌕🥮 中秋節快樂 · Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Yesterday, our Moonstar kitchen family gathered for a little early celebration together — because what better way to celebrate than with good food and good company? ❤️

Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a tradition that dates back thousands of years. Rooted in celebrating the autumn harvest, it has become a time for families and communities to reunite, give thanks, share a meal, enjoy mooncakes, and gather under the full moon. The round moon and mooncakes have come to symbolize unity, harmony, and togetherness. 🌕

Those traditions feel especially meaningful to us at Moonstar Charitable Organization. So much of what we do begins around food — preparing meals, sharing cultures, bringing people together, and making sure there is a place at the table for members of our community.

Today, we celebrate not only the full moon, but the people who fill our tables, our kitchens, and our communities. 💛

May your moon be full, your heart be happy, and your plate be even fuller.

Our 2026 Old Shanghai Starlight Gala was a celebration of culture, community, and the incredible impact we can make when we come together.

From the elegant Old Shanghai atmosphere to the laughter, performances, meaningful conversations, and shared meals, every moment was made possible by the generosity of our guests, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters.

I don't think we say it enough... thank you.

When I watch this video, I don't just see meals being made. I see volunteers who wake up early to help in the kitchen. I see our nonprofit partners loading up their cars. I see seniors, families, and children who know someone is thinking about them. I see a community that continues to show up for one another.

This is what Moonstar Charitable Organization is all about.

A few years ago, I never imagined we'd be here. Every meal that leaves our kitchen represents kindness, hope, and the belief that no one should have to face hunger alone. None of this happens because of one person. It happens because so many of you have chosen to be part of this journey with us.

Our annual fundraiser may be over, but we're not quite at the finish line yet. We're still working to reach our fundraising goal, which helps fund our meal programs for the entire year. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward preparing meals for underserved communities throughout the Bay Area.

It's hard to put into words what we're feeling today.

Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude after such an incredible evening at our 2026 Old Shanghai Starlight Gala. To everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, performed, shared our story, or simply believed in our mission—thank you. You made this night so much more than a fundraiser. You made it a celebration of community, culture, generosity, and hope.
